Support should also be changed to medic, and the ammo box should be dropped by either assault or engineer class. I see suddenly a lot of support class as sniper, dropping ammo boxes for themselves.
I made also a topic about it, but nobody respond to it. I don't understand the half work with this game, it's not the first Battlefield they made.

The half measure is because DICE is trying to please both the Battlefield crowd who wants classes and hates specialists and the COD/Apex crowd who wants heroes and complete freedom via a "create a class" system. They could have pleased both by making two separate instances of AOW, a Specialist based AOW that was unchanged from launch and a traditional generic soldier class based non-specialist Battlefield AOW version to allow both sides to engage with the experience they want. The unknown is if 2042 has the player base to support 2 versions of AOW, my gut feeling says that was a big concern so they did a compromise.

I personally like the free weapon choice.
Especially in BF1 and BFV classes were often hindered by their weapon restrictions.
In BF1 assault was not very good on larger maps due to only having SMGs, the same happened in BFV where the medic class had this issue.
We get the problem of the Assault-class in BF4 and BFV which ends up having the best weapons and recons will just camp even more when only having access to 'snipers'.

What problem(s) would this solve?
