"We're not walking away from Specialists" - Dice

I guess you don't want me to play your game in that case. I've never seen a franchise so thoroughly ruined, and such an incomprehensible, tone deaf response from the Developer/Publisher.  RIP Battl...

Could it be because we had classes in Portal but no one is interested? Maybe a lot of people do enjoy the specialists? Maybe this few 100 people in this forum does not represent what does the majority of players (consoles included)likes or not. Just speculating. If everyone plays AOW and nobody plays portal, the player numbers are sending a message to DICE: we are ok with specialists.

@JOGAGATYA Your argument about Portal fails because Portal progression was gimped prior to full release. Portal has no unlocks or ribbons to work towards. Portal classes aren't actually the same as classes were, as gadgets are locked in a way they weren't in those games.

Some people do enjoy specialists, obviously. However it is impossible to gauge as things stand as there are so many variables.

    @Tee_Doff2369 Obviously still better than specialists according to people here but STILL no one plays portal..

      @JOGAGATYA Because of the reasons I just set out............ People don't want to play gimped classes, gimped Exp and no progression. Who would have thought it??

      I could make a crass argument about how the introduction of specialists has seen one of, if not, the biggest and quickest drop off of any mainline BF game, showing players do not like specialists at all, but that would be awfully reductive.

        @Tee_Doff2369 Now that everyone has ranked up and has weapons and attachments, XP and ribbons etc are worthless and no point playing the game for. We can all head to Portal so you don’t have to deal with specialists. I guess a lot of people are there now…???? Actions speak louder than words. Always excuses. Once you have your needed attachments you just play the game for itself. For fun. You don’t need silly rewards.
