What consequences are there for Badmins who ban for no good reason?

@T0TALfps  @Straatford87   My region exclusively plays on Portal. At the time of this post, there is a single Portal server with just 20/40 players in my region. During peak times my region can fill a 128 player server and a bit more.

I join the server hoping to have fun, then bam, I kill a player in a Jet and next thing I know I'm being booted to the main menu by the admin. I rejoin the game and then I'm kicked again, only this time it says I've been game banned by the admin.

In a populated region, ok whatever, I'll just join another server, but THERE IS NO OTHER SERVER for me to play on in my region. I will not play with bots because they offer limited XP and they don't offer anything in Portal, so what's the point.

The good thing is, this server is not the popular one, so it will die out in the evening, but regardless, I've now been effectively locked out the game because a "admin" didn't read the Portal rules.

I've already reported the Badmin and Server in question, so hopefully something is done about it.

Maybe its time I just moved on from 2042. 

I don't think naming and shaming is allowed here so I won't do that, all I know is, this sucks.

    played a session of BF1 with 4 friends after not touching the game in over 6 years basically and we played on a custom server...
    admin restarted a round 4 times and flat out skipped a map because he didn't like the vote...
    i then just typed "interesting admin method" and got banned....
    the funniest part was refreshing the server browser and seeing that server dying out faster then 2042 player count has 🙂

    Run your own server. Be a better admin, sounds like the bar is pretty low.


    Eventually all the people they have cast out will have sufficient numbers to seed/populate a competing server.  Then you can return the favor.

    @S3SSioN_SoLAnother reason why we need official Dice servers in Portal with conquest playlists and why I never play on servers where admins can kick.

    I can never relax in those servers and thanks to my sometimes amazing powers of survivability in one tank for a whole round of conquest I know the kick will come sooner or later.

    I don't know which region you play in, but I'd just use a VPN and connect to a different region that has more players. I've learned to take action and fix problems myself, because if you wait for DICE to launch a rescue mission nobody will ever come looking for you.

    @OskooI_007  Unfortunately 2042 has the worst latency compensation I've seen in a AAA shooter, you can't play the game when using a VPN and getting over 200ms. It's just a rubberbanding slideshow. A possible fix is enabling FULL XP for AI in Portal. But that ain't gonna happen it feels like.

    Again, it boils down to an admin who didn't read the Portal rules before hosting their own server.

    I guess the action I'll take is, play another game until the "decent" server gets populated. And then eventually, stop playing all together once Season 3 ends.
