Personally, I think season 1 will make or break this franchise. So Dice maybe wanna take a hard good look.
I mean BF 4 i played until death. I dont know how many hours..but now I've unlocked mostly everything in 2042 and i feel like im done. There is none of that 'itch' to keep playing.
Season 1 should have:
- 4 new maps (if you make them for 128 players, make another version for 64 players)
- Bring back levolution and destruction
- at least 4-8 new weapons
- all missing "legacy" features
- a ton of skins for the specialists. And I mean a TON.
- Stats
- Cut post game cringe liners
- Cut pre match cinematics
This may sound like a lot but is a bare minimum, IMO. Remember, BF 4 had more maps, more weapons upon launch. Also the roadmap was shown on release. It had single player. Considering that 2042 has none of that asking for basic things should'nt even count.
What season 1 should NOT be:
Only 1 new map (As rumored) , yet another silly Specialist. Focusing on adding another one would be a massive mistake IMO. If they dont want to return legacy features in a patch well than they better do it with Season 1.
EDIT: BTW at this point during the BF 4 days, the game ALREADY had one DLC, China Rising if you recall. It featured 4 new maps and new weapons. the 2nd DLC Second Assault, was close behind already.
Maps, weapons, special events to earn them if you don't buy season pass.
What I would hate is that season pass only gives you the opportunity to grind for the content before everyone else.
I can see each season being a real grind to help keep numbers up playing.
If EA had any respect for it's customers it would make it quite easy to finish but EA does not respect players as we have seen.
Also each season pass should not have a time limit.
So players like me who cannot play every day and dont want to should be able to finish it whenever we like.
