What if BF6 was 2042 2.0?

Hello!

(Disclaimer that I sadly still have to add in front of each post: I DO NOT PLAY BF2042. I want to. Unfortunately, I currently do not have the resources available to do so. In the meantime, I have gotten as acquainted with the world of 2042 as possible.)

On to the question! If Battlefield 6 turns out to be the "proper Battlefield" version of 2042, would you give it a try? By "proper Battlefield", I mean a campaign (possibly including the Specialists as characters), classes and actual soldiers in the multiplayer, lots of maps and weapons etc.

I completely understand why you wouldn't, considering Dice's less then splendid history when it comes to games and their quality. I also know that some people have already decided to not buy the next game, which once again, is completely understandable.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and have a great day.

  • @Haiku79 Never cared for campaign, i play with a lot of people while on mic. I am telling them classes might be coming back. Reaction: What?? That means i cant have a recoilless with Angel? Etc.. All i care for is smooth bug free gameplay, lots of maps, and a server browser. I dont care about skins or customization either. And no battle royal please.

@Haiku79 I wouldn't care about a campaign. The BF ones have been mediocre at best anyway. I truly had hoped that with the lack of a campaign for 2042 that those resources would go toward additional content for multiplayer. Instead, we got neither.

I agree, don't think I ever played the campaigns except maybe too just hop in a and check them out, multiplayer was the appeal for me.

@OskooI_007 I've been wondering if the Ridgeline Games offering might be a standalone narrative-style game like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order!?

@Lancelot_du_Lac It sounds to me like Ridgeline is making the single player campaign and DICE is making the multiplayer. With Ripple Effect making their own "unique Battlefield experience", most likely a free-to-play battle royale to compete with CoD Warzone.

    That's my guess anyway.

Same, I have never been interested in the campaigns since multiplayer became available.
