absolutely true. but it is not an argument for forcing other people to play your way.
i do not believe for one second that if specialists went away and the class system was brought back it would result in people coming back to the game if none of the actual problems with gameplay were fixed. such as squad management, scoreboard, voip, server browser etc
i bet if all those were fixed and specialists were left alone a lot of people would return (especially if they got rid of the stupid one liners)
Here I agree with you, specialists are the lesser problems BF2042 has. Still if you remember, the community was vocal about them after the beta. My guess is that the hate towards the specs is a mix of issues ppl have with them, issues like ppl not liking change, the damn awful quips they have, feeling like playing Apex legends, lazy design, etc.
The community felt betrayed and they are picking on every single thing that they can to punish DICE.

Ok now that is a more insightful opinion.
You seem to understand that the hate has little to do with the specialists.
You're first comment was the best though.
"They just don't like them".
But no one can really explain why.
Regarding their impact on gameplay one example I've heard numerous times is that an engineer can no longer equip a repair tool and a rocket...
