It would be nice for squad leaders to show their squads the intended attack or defend locations before the match begins on the large map when they are also picking spawn locations. In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege attackers vote on their point of entry into the map. The same with defenders as they vote on which area of the building that they want to fortify. Of course Battlefield is a different kind of game, but the same kind of planning before the match starts could go a long way to creating team synergy. The large map should be used as a tool to coordinate teamwork every time that it can be done in this series.
Battlefield 1 had a feature where squad leaders were able to see the attack/defend orders of friendly squads. Unfortunately it did not seem like too many people playing that game valued this information, but I thought that it was one of the best squad features in this series. Something that is worthy of returning in BF2042 and upgraded. Maybe this info should be in the HUD for everyone on the team to see.

I remember that too, you could see the lines on the map where other squads where moving on.
dies that still happen in bf2042?
yet another team play feature loss.

I know most has been said. and its really things that use to be in the game that were " for some reason " removed.
bigger squads
ability to create, kick and lock your squad
personally i allways liked only spawn on squad leader. gave being a good squad leader merit. staying alive so your team can spawn on you was huge, or reviving the squad leader so the rest can spawn back in. (( you know that whole team play thing ))
Now we have spawn on anybody so you are back in the action asap because if people arnt getting instant action then game sucks its a walking sim. ( strategy gone )
I think they should add some good squad upgrades for completing squad orders, they use to do squad unlocks of weapons that maybe your soldier hasnt unlocked yet. but i think they should go a different route and maybe add some cool squad abilities that the squad leader can unlock for the squad.
maybe a small bonus to health for the entire squad, or extra ammo mag or call in a UAV, or maybe a few seconds off respawn for the next 5 min. stuff along those lines. encouraging team play and taking objectives instead of just running around saying look at my KDR.
and if they ever bring back commanders, they can enhance this even more with the commander giving squads orders. if they complete them they earn points towards squad unlocks. and commander earns points also for the squads following his orders, making him want to use his abilities for those squads more often to help them out. ( you know that whole team play thing again )
- 4 years ago@Skill4Reel I love this idea, being able to draw on the map for would for sure result in a lot of gentlemens sausages, but also allow for way easier planning for a squad. And being able to keep drawing on the map at anytime during the game
