I don`t have high hopes for the future, especially when GTA6 comes out in late 2025 or later. If BF does not deliver and perform, then the franchise is doomed. 98% of original Devs are gone, this means only problems and prolonged workloads, not to mention lack of coherence.
PORTAL:
- I hate PORTAL in its current form. Many strange servers require XP cap, because of fast XP farms. Players should be able to rent servers, set map rotation, size of the game, game mode, set number of tickets, choose between Standard, Classic, Hardcore Mode, fast-slow vehicle spawn, Infantry-Vehicular mode, and that is pretty much all. Enabling anything else will put the gameplay and the official ranking system upside down.
- If players wish to create crazy setups for the gameplay, then the server should appear, as modded, without an official ranking system, but a private one.
- EA needs to develop further Anti-Cheat. If EA does not want players getting kicked manually by so-called bAdmins, then Anti-Cheat and some thriving forum with reports must function. Also, bAdmins on rentable servers tend to swap better players to their side. I would suggest, a system, that prevents bAdmins from targeting particular players. But rather a system reshuffling teams at random every 3 to 5 min if necessary, or with a force reshuffle button. Yes, without targeting specific players. This needs to be discussed and properly addressed. Vote to kick might be an option as well.
- Toxicity in the game chat requires a plugin. It would be helpful to detect spammy and constant messaging with direct insults.
GAMEPLAY:
We do need a plan with a ROADMAP. How many maps can we expect for the Conquest and Breakthrough modes?
I would expect 8 maps at release and 4 next maps after the release date 3 months later to keep me engaged. Similar to what players had with BF3 and 4 releases. 25 maps in total is more than enough. We do need a plan, not some cat-in-the-bag situation. Premium had been a great deal back in the day. Another Life Service flop may kill the franchise.
- Militaristic feel, I am tired of cheesy graphics with funky skins and golden AKs. The art doesn`t have to be gritty and depression-inducing. Capture heat with dust particles, sun rays burning through the skin, and the cold night in the desert. Some areas might be green with beautiful views in the background.
- Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Domination, TDM, Gunmaster. Perhaps some game mode 5vs5. SQTDM, not necessarily in my view.
- Standard, Classic, and Hardcore presets/modes instead of custom out-of-the-rail XP farms with 1 shot 1 kill damage model.
- A single-player campaign that won`t be a cringe-worthy experience rated 7+.
- The game setting placed in a fictional put possible conflict scenario, or something that happened in the past, no power fantasy or steampunk as with BF2042 and V!
- A Class System similar to BF4, and no specialists that ruin the game flow in Conquest.
- Customization with some depth, specific military uniforms, gear, national flags, emblems, nicknames... see no further than Ready or Not.
- Destruction when it needs to be. Not every building needs to be taken down, certain walls might be easily demolished. LEVOLUTION. Drop nonsense as Tornadoes which do not add to the gameplay in reality.
- Please no wing suits, grappling hooks sending player automatically across the map, jetpacks, etc. Throwable and pickable Grappling Hook only used by teammates as well as enemies. Risk/Reward factor instead of pure benefits.
- Awarding players for PTFO and cooperation in Squads.
- Create Infantry Oriented maps vs Vehicular All-Out Warfare maps. Strike at Karkand-Grand Bazaar-Zavod 311 vs Gulf of Oman-Caspian Border-Golmud Railway (Community will be happy and not burnt out). Theather of War and specific gear, please!
- Vehicles and other items that come with a specific map and game mode. Stationary LMGs and TOWs/ATs. Explosive barrels.
- 25 guns at release, handguns, pdws, carbines, shotguns, dmrs, battle rifles, assault rifles, lmgs, sniper rifles, you name it to keep players busy.
- Movement similar to BF3/4 speed. Leaning from the corners. Dragging behind cover wounded squad mates. Window/Door/Wood/Glass breaching mechanics by kicking/knocking the hell out of it. Ledge grabbing. Crouch sprinting. Going fast to the ground, not just slow-proning in emergencies at the cost of weapon accuracy. Possibility of rolling the character left-right while lying on the ground and at the back. Players pick up meds and ammo directly from players. Sliding/slide crouching should only be possible while going downhill. Movement should be faster than in reality, cuz of the fun factor. Focus on game mechanics rather than fast-paced mayhem as with 2042. No bunny hopping or dolphin diving.
- Suppression mechanics might be nice for stationary Machine Guns, Sniper Rifles, and overall high-caliber weapons.
- Raw gameplay footage instead of a trailer inspired by non-existing content. Allow us to play a fleshed-out product rather than an early messy concept.
- Free 2-play game mode.
And finally...
- Make sure players drop their jaws seeing the game, instead of saying... ohh not again we are getting screwed n times in a row.
High expectations, low hopes so far 😛
