The fact we need to let the developers know this is truly worrying, did they actually do any research in previous games. I would like to think that some of the developers played Battlefield 3 or 4 back in the day.
Keep it and and move it from Portal to the main game menu, also experiment with the map designs around it. It's a Win/Win situation for everyone.
