Why are all the anti-tank weapons so bad?

It feels like hitting a tank with a rubber bullet, it does so little and it's more of an inconvience than a threat . Like the only weapon I can even consider decent in terms of being a good anti-vehicle weapon is the Javelin and even that has it's meh moments.

CM edit: removed odd link.

You'll notice I put a question mark on that BF1 statement - your tone is unnecessarily combative. Too many battlefields, too many years, I forget some of the details.

On BF1, I'm quite certain there were regenerating grenades - including light AT nades.  There was also discussions/CTE work being done on regenerating ammo for all gadgets. Between the regenerating nades and CTE work I may be wrong on my cautious statement of BF1 having regenerating AT launcher ammo. Downloading BF1 again now to refresh my memory.

BF4 had bonus damage for launchers.  Perhaps you were trying to be pedantic and would prefer me to use the term multipliers?  The multipliers were well documented.  See Sym. https://forum.sym.gg/t/visualization-of-vehicle-incoming-damage-multipliers-angle-bf4/83

Only difference you get less of them. Because imagine 64 players having access to a rocket launcher with 7+ rockets. The spam would be absolutely insane.

I'm not sure what you think my position is.   BF4 had the potential for an entire team to run engineer with 7+ rockets.  I don't recall there being an insane amount of rocket spam.

@Wargame_Enj0yer Still you got 5 by default + 2 with squad perk compared to 3+1 in 2042

And please, finding ammo was as rare as it is now. Maybe even more difficult since most would run Assault. Supports were mostly camping mortards or ucavs. Ammo bags/pouches were few and far between.

Also tanks were strongers. They had huge amount of different ammo types, canister shells, thermal/IR vision, reactive armor+APS as well as AGM+soflam all in one extremely fast and agile package.

2042 MBTs are slow, cumbersome and have little to no variety. All they do is camp most of the time.

One lone wolf man isn't suppose to be able to easily kill a tank, thats not balance at all. You're upset choosing an AA/AT role isn't equal to godmode against tanks/helo/jets. Imagine driving a tank, and out of nowhere you get one shot by whatever... it's suppose to be a tank and hard to kill. Blame your team when the tank is 50-0 in a round.

@AuMordumWell that's the thing, nobody doesn't 50-0 in a tank. Land vehicles have been nerfed so much from previous games that you never see them going on a streak. I see from time to time some skilled EBLC-RAM duo, but those are extremely rare.

Wildcat and MBTs are utterly useless as front line vehicles. Sometimes I think infantry player will be happy only when all vehicles are removed from the game

@UP_LordPlumber Yeah, I think you hit harder by aiming for the back of tanks.

That's your excuse? So rather than face the unlikely event where multiple players used rockets, you'd vote to nerf it so infantry had no use being on the field? Because that's the game we have now, and I use 'game' loosely.

@AuMordum It's totally balanced. If a single player can get in close to a long range tank with multiple players, I say they earned those points.

They aren't supposed to be hard to beat with the right weapons. They're big, slow targets. And there's supposed to be risk if they drive off alone. Unfortunately the players that don't know how the game should work are the ones trying to tell the devs how to do their job.

Got BF1 re-installed. Nothing regens.  I was wrong on that point. Starting rocket ammo is 4.

It seems there was a period in Spring 2017 where grenades regened, with plans to expand it to all gadgets. https://www.pcgamer.com/dice-is-changing-the-way-battlefield-1-ammo-resupplies-work/

But those plans were apparently scrapped and grenade regen was rolled back.

the risk for the tank has never been bigger than now.

I have used tanks since BF3 and I have never felt as much in danger as now when it comes to being aggressive with a tank (aka not when hiding in the rear lines).

I am all for the infantry having the tools for exterminating a tank in style. But I am concerned by how the BF2042 tanks are both clumsy with limited vertical turret angles as well as reeeeeealy few compared to the infantry they deal with.

Unless I  am mistaken, the number of tanks in 128 CQ on 2042 maps is smaller than the number of them in 64 CQ Caspian border
