Why are the helicopter controls awful???

The roll left/right of the helis are stupid wild! I try to control it but it's just way too sensitive! I've turned down the helicopter sensitivity controls right down too, and still it just swings like it doesn't have any weight.

I tested this out on BF4 tonight too to see if I had the helicopter sticks and buttons and sensitivity wrong on BF2042 so I can have a somewhat similar ease of use. But nope, BF4 feels still feels so much better and you have better control. And it's a 9 year old game.

The flight physics/sensitivity needs adjusting or perhaps a rework at the dev side.

Help me understand, how the devs got the physcis of the air vehicles so wrong compared to BF4? I would have thought that BF2042 being pretty much a direct sequel to BF4, things would have been similar and improved upon. That's what happens in gaming sequels right? You improve upon past iterations right?

It's ridiculously frustrating.

I couldn’t fly these things when I started but I eventually got used to them. Now, if you need to land an SAS team on top of an embassy roof, I’m your guy.

    😉

  • Do you have auto assistance turned on by chance? Removing it helped me tremendously

@TTZ_Dipsy I was surprised what a difference that made when I was messing with it at the start. Not sure how it trying to constantly bring you to level and hover while you’re trying to fly could be bad 🤣
  • @Arfan76 its because battlefield uses Linear Stick type so its like how so it has no acceleration. just full throttle always.

@TTZ_Dipsy It's the first thing I turned off last year. The yaw control is pretty awful as well, it's literally the opposite of the roll left/right stick. Tell you, it's the physics of the air vehicles.

To the others; I've been playing BF4 since it got released and I still play it so I'm pretty competent in my abilities to fly air vehicles without crashing. But the controls in BF2042 bring me no satisfaction whatsoever.
