@shoogknightThe game is matter of balance and fun.
Claymores are not really much fun, except for the one placing them. In a game where infantry-gameplay is "fast paced", they end up being annoying and 'fun-killers'.
Tactical shooters are another story, but claymores doesn't really fit BF games very well. All 'passive'/indirect gadgets often ends up being detrimental to the fun of playing the game.
- 4 years ago@cso7777 i disagree. battlefield is supposed to be a more "thinking man's shooter" than something like COD with small maps. they were great in previous battlefield games when used to prevent flanks and protect entry points to buildings. they were also fun to troll snipers with (put down claymore, shoot the sniper once with pistol and watch the fun)
- 4 years ago@cso7777 You’re wrong. Claymores in BF4 allowed you to take objectives with smaller groups by potentially covering common paths of entry. Also adding an additional element of fun instead of always run n gun.

@shoogknightI know that their use can be fine.
But in reality most of the times you are killed by a claymore, the person are on the opposite side of the map and only used the claymore for trolling/getting easy kills.
I don't know if it is fun to try escaping from a tank, only to have the nearest doorway covered by a claymore.
Pearl market with mix of shotguns and claymores are really something special...
