@Spidder81 and exactly the same can be said for cheaters, they have the tools and little to prevent them doing it so is it OK that they do by your logic?
Just because you can doesn't always mean you should.
Players abused the system and DICE took steps to prevent such abuse, it really is that simple.
@ChugKendall, see above. I disagree that that the easy route should gain 'reward' at a similar rate to the 'harder' route especially when it comes to the likes of weekly missions etc.
And if those people are going to be doing PvE all the time, why does any multiplayer fan care? The MPers won't have to worry about about the Solo guys, because the Solo guys don't want to play PvP.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@ChugKendall If people are only going to play PvE, why should they care about a reward for PvP? If they don't want to play it, they don't get the reward.
Don't want to play Rush? Don't get it.
Don't want to use shotguns or DMRs? Don't get it.
Don't want to revive? Don't get it.
Don't want to play PvP? Don't get it.
I am sure there will be missions I don't want to do whether it be PvP or PvE so again, I will either suck it up or Don't get it.
Why is this such a difficult concept to grasp? - 4 years ago
@Trokey66Look, without trying to sound snotty here, it is you who doesn't seem to grasp the concept being discussed.
Instead of coming in like a bull in a china shop why not first familiarize yourself with what they did and how they did it?
They were never just PvP rewards...the rewards were all the same and were available to both PvP AND PvE players alike when the game first released, regardless of which mode you enjoyed playing in... until they decided to restrict a bunch of what USED TO BE our content. We were already playing towards these rewards when they restricted them by suddenly removing them from PvE after the fact and kept us holding on for a change-back until after our refund policies had expired. Then of course that change-back never came.
This is called bait & switch tactics. The game was sold by giving the impression to PvE'ers that all content could be unlocked for us in PvE type modes, and indeed this WAS the case when the game first launched.
Then a few bad apples (PvP players of course) came in and of course had to ruin it for all the honest PvE players by making bot farming Portal missions. Dice then cuts off everyone, including the innocent. - 4 years ago@Trokey66 it's simple dude, they created a PvE base, and now they need to give attention to it. Call of duty keeps their PvE players happy, hell, they have special DLC aimed exclusively for them (zombie maps) and PvP players get their own DLC as well, everyone is happy. There is a reason why COD manages to outsell BF every year. Dice doesn't even need to have exclusive dlc for pve, it's literally just different and harder tasks for the same rewards. You wouldn't complain if a pvp task is to get 5 sniper kills on MP vs winning 3 conquest matches on solo would you?
If they had no intention on caring for the PvE players, you know what should have happened? Another BF1, bf5, or bf4. That way I would've seen it and gone "Oh, no AI. I guess I just won't buy it and move on; I respect their decision".
Why are you putting down people who bought this game for the PvE and have it within their rights as a consumer of this product to want the same experience as everyone else? - Spidder814 years agoSeasoned Ace

@Trokey66I don't think you're grasping that Portal was created as an answer for solo play and custom match design--and to fill up slots of AI players, to keep the game playable, when dwindling numbers of human players get spread out across modes (already happening). It would be great if everything that happened in PvP also took place in solo, because we all know that Portal will probably be the thing that keeps this title from completely sinking--if EA stops with the nonsense in time.
Bottom line: I have not purchased it, but I have played it, and I don't like it in its current state. Portal was going to be the solution, for me. Sadly, it's not, and I no longer care to play it.
If EA decides to stop restricting things for solo, I might give it another try, because I HATE feeling that my time is wasted. As it stands now, I am fine playing a few other titles--and, no, not the new CoD. It sucks, too. - Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@ChugKendall I don't think you are grasping that this is for a weekly mission!
- 4 years ago@Trokey66 I do understand, and I want more than just the weeklies to be available for solo play; I want *everything* to be available for PvE players.
