- @WraithOf_Hades Hey there! Im sure help is going to be available but it would be really helpful if you provide some more info for us to get our teeth into. If you could provide some of the following it would be great. Thanks.
Console or PC
Speakers or headphones
If PC, onboard audio or soundcard
Just this game or other games too
Always been this way or is this something new that is happening
This sort of info will really help out with troubleshooting. - sk1lld3 years agoLegend@WraithOf_Hades There are times when I get this also. I'm pretty sure it the game audio that is the issue.
PC
Headphones
USB G6 audio
Just this game
Always been like this I have lost most of my hearing. Between filming rock concerts and driving ambulance before ear protection, my ears are trash.
That being said, 3D noise cancelling headphones made all the difference. You may not have the stereo option which will tell you side, direction they are coming from set up or your headphones may not be capable.
- UP_Hawxxeye3 years agoLegend@WraithOf_Hades my problem is that it seems that the sounds the my own team makes are somehow louder than the enemy ones.
It keeps spooking me - ATFGunr3 years agoLegend@WraithOf_HadesIt’s not you the game sound is 100% trash. Friends that sound like enemies. Bolts that are silent until they run over you. I’ve even had the sound completely stop until the need of the round, without only faint tinny small arms fire and a wind sound present. People have bought new headphones or upgraded computers to get the game to sound and run right, and while it’s not wasted as the equipment will work for other games, it doesn’t help them with 2042. PC, B550 Auros Pro (it’s got a great sound card), Sennheiser GSP 350 7.1 headphones.
@WraithOf_HadesThe sound is just garbage. I have to stop and look around for enemies before I realize that it’s my own feet I hear. Helicopters sound like they’re right above you but they’re nowhere in sight.
Now the constructive part of the post. EA fix yo stuff.- cso77773 years agoSeasoned Ace
Bad sound has been an issue for the franchise for a long time.
Go play BF4, footsteps are even worse than 2042 (believe it or not).
BF1 and especially BFV improved sound a lot, but it was still far from perfect.
Sounds coming from behind are often not played at all. In BFV if you put dynamite on a building and detonate it, with your back to explosion, it will often be totally silent, you perhaps hear the building crumble, but not the explosion. This is the same in 2042 (footsteps, vehicles, gunfire, parachutes etc).
But 2042 is almost as bad as BF4, all the improvements in BF1/BFV seems lost.

The sound is awful no matter how the few pretend the game is ok.
When a tank can sneak up on you in a game then the game sounds are broken.
Footsteps are just terrible the music is terrible everything about the sound is terrible.
MW2 beta sound was more battlefield than this game.

To add to this after playing another game.
2 of us were above a player we could hear/see them and they could hear us.
The difference was we were above making alot of noise.
The poor player was looking in totally the wrong direction whilst in ADS looking for us.
We were the only 2 players around and the other player was the only one from that team.
I knew what was going on the sound yet again making the game a bad experience for another player.
Felt sorry for them when i shot them.
I play on Xbox X with a wired pair of good quality headphones with the surround sound option and I seriously do not notice any issues.
When the game launched I could not pick up enemy infantry footsteps in my tank but they have fixed that now.
I hear the slightest movement by enemy soldiers who are hiding to the point where I've never heard such small movements in a battlefield game before.
I have never not heard a vehicle close by that I am aware of. I guess it could be happening and I just don't know if I don't end up seeing the vehicle.
