Why is BF2042 a full priced game with no campaign at all? Should have been $45

I mean even CoD manages to come out with a campaign with every one of their games for the most part, besides BO4.

Where has all the time been spent making 2042? It wasn't working on a story or campaign missions, so why is the multi-player portion so damned poor and sloppy?
