I kindly disagree. I think we all have emotional attachment to old maps just like to music we grew up with. The new maps, especially Exposure and Stranded are better than any map in portal i say. Renewal is my all time favourite map. I play Battlefield for 20 years now. The other day i played Caspian Border and i loved, really loved that map back in the day. After 2042, i say some new maps are definitely better than Portal maps. We could have some new urban maps though in the upcoming seasons. I would like those.
I also kindly disagree.
I only played Battlefield 1942 in the past (in... 2003). So I have no emotional attachment whatsoever to the old maps in Exodus Conquest as I've never played any of these, however I still think they are better than most of 2042 maps. As said previously the design of the new maps critically lacks of imagination as they put most of the same assets (a boat in the middle of the map, shipping containers all around, ...) on every map they make on 2042 which is ridiculous.
But I have to admit that Exposure is way better than most of the other 2042 maps. Stranded not.
What we need is new and refreshing maps, that would make us feel like they are different than the other ones !
Is it asking too much an urban map ? Map with seas, islands, warships and other stuff ?
That way we wouldn't need 10-year-old maps to play on.
