Could be so easy, just a 64 player mode with exodus and following maps:

I agree game modes should not be limited there is no point in doing this time stuff except that less people play the game because they just don't like the modes that are in it.
Earlier in BF4 or BF3 I could play 15 different modes without any consequences. It just sucks that games are regressing.
PS: and gives us a favorite map selection system where you specify, for example, 4 maps where you like to play and you are prioritized assigned to this server.
I'm also all for leaving the Exodus mode available at all times.
For those who only care about PvP, you DO realize, though, that you can easily create you own playlist in Portal using all the same maps as in Exodus right? The only issue would be if you wanted to use PvE AI then the xp and unlocks are severely limited. But if you're PvP then it's no issue.

@JOGAGATYAIn old maps, most objectives are closer to each other there's no real useless space where you have to run for 5 mins without seeing anyone to get to the next site. Don't get me wrong some maps did make you run for 5mins straight but i didn't consider those maps good either.
Stranded objectives seems to be closer to each other and i haven't played enough of Stranded to say anything about the gameplay. I'm just not a fan of the art style of the shipping containers everywhere.
I don't think all new maps are bad and some of them are getting a rework which is great. But let's take Exposure for exemple. In 64 players you have 2 sites at the bottom of the map and the rest is up top. That means they expect players (infantry) to run all the way back to the top once they captured the objective down there. You'll also notice there's less players at those objective.
And they already designed so many maps in older battlefield, bringing back some of the old one would give them more time to develop new maps that are enjoyable and maybe releasing a bundle and not 1 at a time.

Exposure and Kaleidoscope just do not work very well in 64 player versions, especially Exposure. I found most rounds extremely dull on both maps.
That was the only downside of Exodus Conquest playlist. Preferred it when the two 2042 maps were Discarded and Manifest which work very well in the 64 player versions.

I only played Battlefield 1942 in the past (in... 2003). So I have no emotional attachment whatsoever to the old maps in Exodus Conquest as I've never played any of these, however I still think they are better than most of 2042 maps. As said previously the design of the new maps critically lacks of imagination as they put most of the same assets (a boat in the middle of the map, shipping containers all around, ...) on every map they make on 2042 which is ridiculous.
But I have to admit that Exposure is way better than most of the other 2042 maps. Stranded not.
What we need is new and refreshing maps, that would make us feel like they are different than the other ones !
Is it asking too much an urban map ? Map with seas, islands, warships and other stuff ?
That way we wouldn't need 10-year-old maps to play on.
