Why is there no 30mm machine gun in the main weapon of the AH-64GX?

This may have been debated long ago: the KA-520 has a 30mm machine gun in its main weapon, but the AH-64GX does not. Why is this? I believe both vehicles have the same role, but there is a huge difference in capability between having a machine gun in the main weapon and not having one, especially in anti-helicopter combat. Is it for balance with the VTOL capability of jets and transports?

I honestly do not understand why they chose this asymmetry between AHs and Jets.
Even if the 30mm was nerfed to the ground for most intents and purposes, it is not nice that only one side has it.

Also it is not a machinegun technically. It is a Autocannon.

@UP_Hawxxeye The *pilot* 30mm is not as useful as the gunner one, especially compared to the overpowered anti-"vehicle" rockets pilots have. It has pretty bad vehicle damage and is mostly only useful against infantry and maaaaybe air, unlike "vehicle" rocket pods which are useable against and have good damage against literally everything.

The gunner can aim anywhere, even behind and slightly up, and lead people easily without needing to tilt the entire helicopter.

I swear I have no idea what the heck the people looking after this game now are doing, and I'm guessing neither do they either, some of the latest rounds of changes that have been made are bizarre.

This gun issue is a perfect example too. Let's give one heli the way to destroy another one without giving the other one a way to defend itself. Way to go DICE / EA

@JennyB_010The pilot 30mm has been only on russian helicopters since launch.
It's also worse than anti-vehicle rockets in every single way, so that doesn't matter that much.

@Lady_One It would be difficult to hit a helicopter in flight with an anti-vehicle rocket pod. By comparison, the 30mm machine gun is by far the easiest to hit and is powerful against soft targets. Since missiles are used against vehicles, the 30mm is the best main weapon.

@Gurz1019_MP Difficult for you, practice more. Helicopters fly in straight lines when shooting at one another (people keep their aim on the enemy, they don't make wacky movements), making them pretty easy to hit if you can lead and plenty of 2042 weapons already explicitly need leading skill, like launchers or sniper rifles.

    Killing a jeep doesn't matter.

@Lady_One No. Even I have difficulty hitting a helicopter with my anti-vehicle rocket pod, but with the main 30mm machine gun, I can easily shoot down a helicopter. This weapon is so easy to hit that you can even take evasive maneuvers while shooting. A well-trained pilot would probably be better with an anti-vehicle rocket pod, but many pilots are not. The ease of application is what makes the main 30mm machine gun superior to the anti-vehicle rocket pod.

But to pick the 30mm option is to specialize against just the enemy attack helicopter while being much less dangerous against everything on the ground. While there is an asymmetry problem, it is still the worse option.

I would still try to land anti vehicle rockets to help my gunner do his job
