Why??? We need people to play with too!
- @k1u73 yea....consoles aren't going anywhere. have fun with your $1500+ PC you have to upgrade every 2-3 years (if not faster) to play games on

@DeepSixxxx BF2042 defaults to "Crossplay enabled" with an emphasis to return to that state, if you disabled it. So you need a conscious action, to disable crossplay, but every time you join a friends party, that has crossplay enabled, your preference is changed to "Crossplay enabled", and you need to take action, to disable it again, after you left the party.
I guess the current matchmake pools are
- Crossplay
- PC only
- PlayStation last gen only
- PlayStation next gen only
- XBox last gen only
- XBox next gen only
Those are used by the playlists
- AoW Breakthrough SMALL (32vs32)
- AoW Breakthrough (64vs64)
- AoW Conquest SMALL (32vs32)
- AoW Conquest (64vs64)
- Hazard Zone
- Portal 2042 TDM (16vs16)
- Portal 2042 Rush (16vs16)
- Portal Conquest of Ages (32vs32)
- Portal Rush of Ages (16vs16)
- Portal Featured Mode
- (Portal Server Browser)
And for each Region (no clue how those are created)
So yeah, each added play mode or each new kind or crossplay pool reduces the probability to fill a lobby to a point where until its ready to start a match.
And since we are not able to check the lobby state (players joined, players needed) this is very frustrating for everyone.
What we need, is an adjustment to the matchmake algorithms, that allow single platform parties, that have crossplay enabled, to also join lobbies that are for their respective platform only.
But I assume this might be a quite more complicated task, than originally planned for.

But that is the hardware the games are designed to run on, to reach the biggest audience.
We already see what happens, when a new console generation becomes available, and games reach the limits of the old gen, and don't use most of the capabilities from the new gen.
And yes, I believe games are maybe developed on PC also, but the focus is consoles.

pretty sure people meant playstation vs xbox not pc
- @Psubond I agree that consoles are here to stay, that said, if you want to have graphics and frame rates anywhere close to PC quality, you need both the newer $500 consoles and also at least a $1600 55" 120Hz TV and a TV stand, so I'd say you need around $2300 for the best console setup, and in comparison $2300 will get you a decent PC too.
Advantages of PC are multi-tasking and more gaming options, advantages of console are ease of use and limited to non-existent cheating...although that is at risk, ironically enough, with "CROSSPLAY ENABLED".
Just wait until Dice adds scoreboard and player stats for everyone to track and the kids to get peer pressured...then BF 2042 is at risk of turning into HALO wall hack aim bot disaster...HA - Ai-Fluffy4 years agoSeasoned Ace
Every PC player I know also owns a console so stop whining because you can't afford a PC.
Crossplay should be optional for all platforms.
I prefer playing against PC players and having a more level playing field.
I don't think anyone can balance aim assist console vs pc (looking at Warzone).

Separate pc / console option, please
I'am stop playing bf2042 only because of it, my teammates play on ps, me on xbox. When playing against pc players i'am 90% get shot in head, no mater what i do, same for my team. When playing only xbox, all good.
PS aim-bot don't aiming to head, and try playing on gamepad, it's completely different playstyle, you can't turn around in ms. And I will add that aimbot does not work in vehicles, in dogfight you lose (much more easier aiming with mouse).
- @RicksPvp Yes, please. I turned off crossplay to avoid playing with PC users. Even PUBG has this figured out. With cross play on I only play against other people using a controller so it's almost all PS and Xbox users. Every so often you find a Google Stadia user lol
