Its a game, its not even close to real in the slightest way on either a console or a M+K. Both are basically computer inputs, just like a joy stick is.
- Jeager1-44 years agoSeasoned Scout@Hudson009 Perhaps you haven’t run into the issue very often on the games you play, but Cronus-max and XIM use are rampant on games like the division and destiny. At least if MnK support became native for this game on console, it would eliminate the advantage XIM provides to console players and level the playing field. It would also most likely disincentivize people from using a Cronus as well, as per the manufacturer, running scripts while using a MnK, will have negative impacts on the input of the mouse, as the scripts on Cronus are designed expressly for use on a controller.
- Jeager1-44 years agoSeasoned Scout@Passdogs_dad Your decision to turn cross-play off, is exactly the point I made on a similar post. This game was created with 128 players (real players) as a key feature that EA/Dice touted as the crowing achievement that would set this game apart from its competition. However, the success of this ambitious goal hinges directly on the seamless integration of all 3 major gaming platforms, into one unified game. Frankly, EA/Dice snubbing their nose at making MnK support native on consoles, is truly a missed opportunity to achieve the very goal they listed above. By not making MnK native on console, all they’ve done is disincentivize console players from enabling a key component of their game…and your comment is proof of the sentiment.
Cross-play is not only the wave of the future for multiplayer gaming, it’s here to stay. In addition to that, cross-play is a feature which will arguably be, what makes or breaks the 128 player experience that y’all over at EA/DICE are striving to achieve. But as it stands now, there is little incentive for console players to enable cross-play, and be thrown into matches against PC players using superior control peripherals, such as a mouse and keyboard.
Since the success of cross-play is as vital to achieving the sort of experience you‘re striving to achieve in this game, it therefore, makes little sense as to why you would discourage console players from enabling cross-play, by not making MnK support native across all platforms. As it stands currently, only PC players are free to use whatever peripherals they choose, while consoles are being forcibly handicapped against PC players, for no apparent reason other than dogma. Wondering if it possible?
It would be nice if the Next Gen version of the game would allow an option for Crossplay between consoles only (Xbox Series X/S and PS5). I know, I can just play the "Last Gen" version of the game, but then it defeats the whole purpose of purchasing the New Gen version.
Just wondering.
Problem with that is if they did that, they are already dividing the already dwindling player base that they already have. If you read through the forums so many posts already talk about cross-play off and not being able to find a match on Breakthrough/Conquest in AOW, the problem isn't server issues but rather player count for cross-play on/off. I want to say 98% of the community only plays cross-play on and that only leaves 2% for cross-play off (not even taking in consideration of the fact that there are 5 different versions of the game for that serverwise between old gen and new gen along with PC) so if they added that then good luck finding a match at any point.
- @DaddyWarBukx The alternative is that console players disable it anyways and only play with their own platforms playerbase.
I disabled it on Ps5 on day 1 and haven't felt any need to put it back on.
No problems finding games on Ps5 with crossplay disabled. I would like to play with a few people I know who are on Series X though (But I would actually rather do that on the Ps4/Xone version, if the alternative is to play against mouse and keyboard while im on a controller) - cornybbq24 years agoSeasoned Ace@BizzyVaping I’m on ps5 and turned off crossplay. If there was console only crossplay i would turn it back on for sure…
@BizzyVapingThe point isn't that you will/won't have issues finding matches every time, point is that it relies on people turning cross-play off to begin with, from what I have found its in excess of 90% of players leave it on without turning it off. Devs clearly designed this game around cross-play on all the time (based on the amount of connections going through cross-play alone and lag associated to that comparative to cross-play off) personally I turn it off from time to time on PC but have difficulty getting a match to start from the low numbers to begin with (mostly Breakthrough since I usually find a match on Conquest without issue and Breakthrough you will run into the same people 17 games in a row without any variation really).
@DaddyWarBukxIm not seeing any difference in lag or wait times with crossplay off on Ps5. (It'll usually take around 10 seconds to find a match)
I actually find matches faster on Ps5 with crossplay off than I do on PC with crossplay on.- SkooLBoY_SkePtiK4 years agoRising Adventurer
Should definitely be an option. Most console players never wanted to play with PC players anyway. PS and XBox would be great for the XBox players, because their numbers are so low, they have no practical crossplay choice at the moment.
