Why is there still no Server Wide Chat?

Honestly, you've added voice chat for squad but we cannot talk to anyone on the other team? How are you STILL behind Battlefield 4 in 2022 and its almost 2023.

You give people the ability to grow their own communities and you talk like you are helping people at the same time as you continue to hinder them by only allowing team & squad chat.

How could you be so dense as to not see the ability to communicate with the enemy team an essential part of the FPS experience?

I would prefer the option of people to opt in rather than opt out of being spammed with a lot of nonsense they don't want or need.

As far as reasoning, I think a few potential reasons were stated in the thread,

Dice are from Sweden, one of the most "woke" countries in the world (I live in Denmark, we are not at the same level but almost...).

They should try introducing a thing called choice, instead of forcing their political agendas on people.

A lot of older players would like the all-chat and an easy solution would be to make an opt-in-system, let people decide themselves.

Hence the option to turn it off if you don't want to see it, all anyone is asking for is the ability to opt in if they want.

Honestly, I don't understand the reasoning behind ever removing it in the first place.

Me neither bud, it's a bit of a head scratcher.

@Prosak_the_Great All-Chat is intentionally missing as it'd be too toxic. It's not like the devs couldn't have put it in. Don't know how people struggle to understand this by now.

The game doesn't need it, and it certainly ain't essential at all. People should be focused on playing the game and communicating only with their squads/team, not constantly heckling the other team and having them do the same thing back (which is exactly what would always happen). You want that terrible experience then CoD's prox chat is for you.

The game most certainly needs all chat. For one everyone I play with misses saying "GG" at the end of the round. Second all chat is required to coordinate for team switching (or in 2042 leaving the server and rejoining a friend), or coordinating during an event for the entire server to see or do something. Just because something can be used for toxicity doesn't make it toxic nor does it mean that it was predominantly toxic.

I think it could be nice to have the option in portal to enable all chat

Just have it off by default. Just like with team/squad chat, it is not like you have to subject yourself to it if you don't want to see it.

The lack of it shows that this game was never intended to be a traditional BF title from the beginning. This is just another one of those legacy features.

Because people these days are too fragile to have that
