I am complaining because I paid for the game the same as everyone else. Why should my progression be limited in the official AoW mode just because some people decided to farm?

I don't use twitter so I had no idea they promoted custom Portal modes, but I have played a ton of portal.
I have had all attachments unlocked for all weapons for a long time, so I really have no reason to play AOW over Portal anymore unless I just feel like playing AOW. (I was still playing portal regularly before unlocking it all to)
As someone else said already, some people just play to have fun and doesn't care about grinding for exp or unlocks.

EA and Dice need to shout about Portal mode louder. There are many people whining about having the Battlefield they want but it's right there in Portal. I'm sure most people complain without switching the game on. The mode is clearly visible from the main menu.

One of the main reasons I bought this game was because of custon portal. But I (and many 1000s others) havent touched it for a while because of the restrictions. They killed this mode after 1 day.
I dont even blame the players with the xp farms. Dice knew that xp farms could be a problem since July 2021 and said there would be measures etc in place. Obviously they lied or forgot to implement them and instead handed the xp farmers everything on a silver platter to do what they want.
Now because of Dice's laziness or incompetence (which doesnt surprise me) custom portal and solo/coop has to suffer with restrictions, instead of being how it was on release day and how it was intended, and why 1000s of people bought the game in the first place.
With the just how bad the game is doing and the painfully low dwindling player base they should just take off all restrictions, and all they need to do is put an xp block on AI that is put below 100% health when creating a custom portal, but apparently that is too much hard work for them
These implementations should have been in the portal creation page before release, and not an after thought when the xp farms were already in place.

I only play portal, I loved playing Rush and loved all the custom content. It's fun, I still get my weapons attachments and I still get xp to progress. It is not like you get nothing for playing it, you still get rewarded, to some it's never enough though and are trying to speak out of both sides of the mouth saying that people don't care about grinding and XP but yet complain there is an XP cap. It is like they are trying to cover the fact that they really want to be able to get boatloads of XP but instead taking the opportunity to just blame DICE for everything since that is currently the "in" thing to do.
The argument makes no sense, people don't want to play the main multiplayer and instead want to play custom modes to have more fun; boom DICE provided. In previous titles, you couldn't get XP or attachments in custom modes just due to the fact people were trying to shortcut ways to progress which made it unfair. DICE changed that, yet people abused it. DICE could have just shut it all off, but they didn't....they want people to play Portal, so they tried to keep farming from overtaking the community and still give XP and attachments for people playing it.
I believe if more people played Portal they would see all their complaints about classes, content, and maps are all moot because one has it all in Portal.

As someone else said already, some people just play to have fun and doesn't care about grinding for exp or unlocks.you're supposed to be on social media so you can get upset and post how upset you are. you're not supposed to play games to have fun. you're supposed to grind your BF homework like a good boy. Shame on you. 😉
- 4 years ago@babypants1 that seems to be the new generational attitude nowadays. I guess I am just getting to old to be in that cool club.
- DominickB34 years agoSeasoned Ace@babypants1 You realize the tweet I posted about is literally to the right on these forums. If somebody can find their way here, they can see the tweets. I didn't have to go searching on social media.
Also I play games to have fun. This game has really hurt my ability to have fun in it with the major restrictions in solo/co-op and custom portal so I've just been playing games that are fun for me. I am just upset that on day 1, the game worked with full progression, so I bought it after trying it through EA Play, only to feel like I was bait and switched the next day.
