Why promote a Custom Portal Game Mode

@Stew360 I think was most people don't get is, that there is NO progression, playing on non EA portal servers. And the XP gains are cut back so far, it doesn't make sense to use any server that wants you PTFO.
I played BF4 a lot, on a privately managed ranked server with a friendly classic fire enabled rule set, which, despite all rumours spread in this thread, had full progression towards xp, ribbons, weapon and class unlocks and assignments.
One of the points in the BF2042 advertisement was, that Portal would provide us with the same experience. Which, at the moment, it doesn't.
We can't have classic or hardcore ruleset servers and progress at the same time. Alone this fact already made 75% of our community to decide against playing BF2042 at all. That is before we come to all the other issues the game suffers, because it was developed as a Royal game, with lacks lot of quality of life features a Battlefield would need.

i just want persistent servers, but in 2022 that's a lot to ask i guess
