Why so few weapons?
Some of you may rebut this with "Well if you had more guns, they would all feel the same". I never felt that way with previous releases. Only two LMGs is laughable and only further illustrates that...
No. * that. Add more guns.
Hell, they could have half assed it and added all the BF4 guns, and just added fresh textures.
The lack of guns in the game is a joke. And the fact you suggest we play an older game? Unacceptable

More guns aren´t going to help the balance and only make it more difficult to do so more literally no reason. It was already time that we have actually less weapons, which anyway played the same. This game has problems enough and don´t need more by pointlessly adding weapons.
My guess is that they cut out a fair number of them to sell/release during the season packs like CoD 2018 does with the battlepass.
The lack of accessibility and contend is what will make 2042 DOA.
If friends can't even search a server, stay together as a squad or I cant even selected what map i wanna play on, its a major issue. We has all this stuff in past BF games so limiting gamers (esp on a PC) options is never a smart thing. Contend wise, 2042 is so bare bone, it feels unfinished at times. I think BF 4 has over 70 weapons at launch AND a single player AND TDM and Rush modes and more. And this esp. hurts even more as there is no single player. For 3 years work, there is little to show for. Even with a pandemic.
You wouldn't have liked BF2 then. I for one don't mind fewer weapons when I hardly use more than 2 different guns right now. Less is more.
My concern isn't with balance, it's with lack of customization and variety. It's 2042. Somehow we have less guns than we did in WW2.
Optics and attachments are subpar and don't allow for enough variations of weaponry and play styles on the battlefield.
