Wildcats cannot compete 1 vs 1 against buffed Attack Chopper?

Maybe it wasn't the hard counter before the recent anti vehicle buff to the attack chopper but over the weekend I saw Attack Choppers take out Wildcats in 1 vs 1 on numerous occasions.

All they need to do is hit flares when you target them with anti air missiles and then pound you with their rocket pods. They then simply hover above the Wildcat which cannot point up or turn the turret quick enough while the chopper waits for their flares to reload and finish the Wildcat off.

The Wildcat 30mm cannot compete and the anti air missiles are nullified by flares. I haven't tried the other Wildcat ammo types yet. Maybe they can compete?

A competent jet pilot can be taken down easily by a wildcat if they are flying low and busy engaging another target/out of flairs - the wildcat can damage the jet incredibly fast while the opposite is NOT true (also ridiculous 400 vs 600 m long on range)

    They really can't.

I've spent entire rounds with AA lock ons and 30mm on the Wildcat targeting jets and its impossible.

They always have a flare ready to pop, which cancels your AA and then off they fly out of range of the 30mm.

Or you start with the 30mm and then use the AA missiles you get the same result.

You will only catch them if they make a mistake.

But because they can't take out the Wildcat with their AGMs as long as the Wildcat saves its smoke then that's fine.

  • That damn stealth chopper has no place in the game, another game this week where a pilot, in stealth, just flew back and forth dropping bombs and firing the machine gun, mopping up kills knowing no one could stop them. No lock on from any gadget and if a vehicle tries to shoot it, they just fly off to recover health then back in again.

Such a stupid decision to include this thing.

@Tank2042ManThey need to nerf the missile changes slightly. They made them too strong.

Each Anti-vehicle missile is almost the equivalent of a recoilless missile. This is just bonkers.

I tested the 127mm rockets on bot MBTs and 10 x 127mm rockets take about half the HP of an MBT.

This is a lot less than recoiless missile damage. It takes 4 recoiless to take out an MBT from 100%.

They also do not do damage to MBTs, Wildcats, MAVs and RAMs unless they are direct hits. Meanwhile the 127mm somehow has a great splash vs infantry (!)

As I've said, jets are easy targets to wildcats specifically when the jet pilots are being distracted by something else - ie when they are busy engaging other targets at low altitude (also at lower speed). Also, chances are that the jet pilot already had to deploy flares during the engagement, meaning that the jet has no chance of surviving if wildcat locks onto it and launches a pair of missiles (unless there's cover).

Because of the different max lock on range (600 vs 400 m), a wildcat is able to lock onto the jet before jet has a chance to lockon, thereby forcing jet to waste flare during an engagement. If jet pilot has not disengaged at this stage, it's almost certain that the jet is getting destroyed

  • @Tank2042Man The AA of this game is crap because the developers hate them as much as they hate JET and assigning JET and helicopter together is their malice
