I would be completely fine with k&m on consoles, as long as you're all put into a k&m separate lobby from controller users in any sort of competitive game.
I bought a ps5 because I couldn't afford a PC and a lot of people probably did the same and not adding K&M support to consoles would be a missed opportunity. COD does it and no one has complained about it so far.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@FireExhauster Your inability to purchase a PC is NOT a valid reason to add M&KB to console.
- 4 years ago@Trokey66 Completely missing the point. The second paragraph was from a marketing perspective and not of my own. You would sell more copies and adding mouse and keyboard is just a plus for everyone and I genuinely dont see why people who love controllers have an issue with it. You love controllers? Have an issue with playing against other mouse and keyboard? Opt out. You have the option. But not everyone prefers a controller for a FPS game. Me included and I probably wouldn't buy the game if it didn't.
I really don't understand why people are against an accessibility option in a crossplay game that doesn't give the user a distinct advantage over their opponents. The opponents are going to have the same hardware so why does it matter? Not adding this option would lead to two things. People either won't buy the game or resort to external hardware to use mouse and keyboard on a console lobby. Loss and a loss to EA and console players involved. - Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace
@FireExhausterNot missing the point at all and the fact you don't understand the views of controller users is part of the problem.
@Popa2capsnot on console..... - 4 years ago@Trokey66 So help me understand. I legitimately don't see why console users are bothered by this. I don't see any issue that stems from this and CoD and couple other FPS online games is proof of concept.

If i have xbox i should play On controlling and when o want to play On K&M i should to go On PC?
I play On My PC On controller in Rocket League.. I should not do that?
Why pro player play On PC with controller? And who ale you to tell me On what i have to play??

@Lord_WlnWAgreed. No offense to console players or controller users but I can't help but feel like they are being out of touch elitists at this point cocooned inside their shell fearing expansion and experimentation. If they wanna play with a controller, play with a controller. No one cares and no one is against that. But don't try and ruin other people's chances of trying to have a fun experience with the hardware they are more comfortable with. We are just going to play vs PC players who use the same hardware so what's the issue for controller users? There is literally an option to opt out if you don't want to go against K&M users.
I'm sorry if it sounded rude or harsh but that's my thoughts on the matter. I still have a lot of positives left in the tank regarding advantages of adding K&M support and I really hope the developers consider adding it. It's an FPS game and I know a considerable amount of people who are waiting for this confirmation before they buy the game.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@FireExhauster 'No one cares.....'
That about sums it all up doesn't it. As long as you get what you want, everyone else be damned. - 4 years ago@Trokey66 Pfff..did you even read the entire post? How do you always manage to pick the most pointless sentence and make a big deal out of it. The thing is us K&M users expect you to not care about us as well. But you do. You are vocal and against adding K&M despite it not hurting you at all. So I'm asking 'Why do you care? Why does it hurt you to have this option?
Actually you know what. Answer me this. Leave everything else. Don't quote anything else. How is adding M&K to console and forcing them vs PC players hurting controller users? Especially when there is an option for you guys to opt out of it. - EA_Rtas4 years ago

Let's keep things civil in here folks. It's fine to agree/disagree with each other as long as it's kept polite and civil.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@FireExhauster perhaps read this and other threads on the subject.
@EA_RtasSorry about it. I'll keep it down.
@Trokey66Everything said prior to announcement of crossplay with PC would be irrelevant because IT IS UNFAIR to allow M&K in a console lobby. Your arguments after that were that no other battlefield games had K&M support but they didn't have crossplay either so it's invalid too. If this game didn't have crossplay then fine, I wouldn't ask for K&M. But it does and I don't see the point of putting all the work and effort to allow console players go against PC players when eventually every console player will opt out unless a K&M functionality is introduced and putting such users to go against PC players. If I've missed any other point then just point it out and I'll clarify it too.
Also there is no such thing as console player = controller and PC = M&K. Believe it or not it's a very outdated thing to believe in. Like someone mentioned, PC allows use of controller so why not the other way around. All we are asking for is an accessibility feature. Not a gameplay balance change. Something that literally doesn't affect controller users like, at all. If anything it brings more people to the game. - 4 years ago
Why are people crying about this, you plug in kb/m that’s your choice and you get put in kb/m lobbies it’s that simple!

Guys he is just telling those things to make people angry. If he really thinks like that let him live in his bubble. "May the Earth be light with you".
The fact is that we have a cross-platform confirmation and that does not answer the original question.: Will Battlefield 2042 be playable with K&M on Xbox?
So far the answer is: most likely.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@FireExhauster If KB&M is restricted to PC crossplay, have at it.
As much as you want KB&M on console, there are many that don't because of the inherent advantage it brings over controller.
What makes your 'bubble' more valid than the 'bubble' of the opposing view? - 4 years ago@Trokey66 I never said K&M isn't an advantage over consoles and never denied when someone said that. But my point was for console players to be able to use K&M and go against PC players/Console K&M users or other controller players IF they don't opt out of crossplay. That's why I implore people to read the whole post and understand it before giving a reply.
I always stand by what I say (as should everyone) and be prepared to stack up evidences to support it. Will I change my mind? Sure..if someone gives me a counter argument that is valid. I even said I'll clarify if there is anything that console players are concerned about. Nothing so far except vague sentences that attack my stance rather than defending theirs. You cannot win a competition without even taking part in it. I presented reasons, counter arguments and even a proof of concept. Nothing from the other side.
So yeah, if a dev is reading this, please consider M&K for consoles. It'll be helpful to a lot more people to have fun with the game. Cheers! - Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@FireExhauster This post and the one at the top of the previous page demonstrates that you ignore other opinions.
The main argument against KB&M on console IS the advantage it brings over controller but you just kiss that off because you have more 'evidence to stack up'.
As long as KB&M is restricted to PC crossplay, have at it. - 4 years ago
Supposedly your main concern is that the KBM users have an advantage over your play style. You think you're safe from KBM users on console even if it's not allowed in the game? I'm guessing you've heard of the 3rd party hardware that circumvents the system such as Zen Cronus and Titan 2? Not only allowing you to use a KBM on the console but also gives them the aim assist designed for controllers and the ability to load custom scripts to further the gap.
Now before you say that not many use these addons, you'd be mistaken:
BATCH #5 121763 and 124779 SOLD OUT - SHIPPING NOW BATCH #6 124780 and 131915 SOLD OUT - DUE END OF JULY BATCH #7 131916 and 132435 SOLD OUT - DUE AUGUST BATCH #8 132436 and 137397 SOLD OUT - DUE SEPT BATCH #9 137398 and above ON SALE NOW - DUE OCT That's just for the Cronus Zen, not including their other products or Titan 2. There's been demonstrations of the scripts allowing wall hacks and aimbotting. Luckily the developer of this script and Activision came to an agreement. But that doesn't mean others won't follow. But feel free to continue taking a stance against KBM because you fear the game will change. Sad to say you lost that battle years ago when controllers were connected via USB if not before.
An 'undetectable' and 'unstoppable' cheat was taken down at Activision's request | PC Gamer
If anything the KBM users coming from PCs are looking to get away from the cheats as well. To say the advancement of input device is the end of console play we'd still be using Pong paddles or the old Atari joysticks with a single button. Even jumping forward ten years to the Nintendo with the rectangular block and two buttons
The bottom line is things change and usually for the better. The consoles have always been catching up to the PC and as previously stated they are basically PC with a closed environment at this point. Anyone would tell you there is very little difference between the two categories these days in terms of hardware. AMD is even selling below grade XBox Series X APU's for users to make tiny gaming pc's.
- 4 years ago@FireExhauster Console players wanting the playing field to be fair are being elitist? You PC players wanting to have things your way got that backwards.
- VOLBANKER_PC4 years agoSeasoned Ace@ReisenQuin Why do PC players always act like it’s completely impossible and out of the question for them to learn how to use a controller?
I switched from PC to console recently, so I can tell you from my own experience that it’s not really that hard, at least in Battlefield where you get all kinds of settings for console users to tweak. - 4 years ago@VOLBANKER_PC Why are you changing the subject? I don't believe anywhere on my content did I say PC players can't play with a controller nor was this the original topic. But I guess you needed to pivot... so lets pivot
I grew up with controllers however I did not grow up with playing FPS with controllers because they were on PC exclusively for the longest time. The first many years of FPS on consoles were horrible and later only tolerable with the assistance of the developers essentially allowing console players to cheat with aim assist and reduction in recoil. They added it as necessity to cover the fact that the games weren't as fun and couldn't keep up with the PC versions.
I personally would rather have credit for my shots rather than a program tracking an enemy through an object regardless to what extent or allowing my aim to be in the general area of a target yet hitting it. Yes KBM is more precise but its far less forgiving than the controllers programmed assistance to compensate for its failings.
To each their own as to how you want to play, I'm not saying you can't play with a controller on a PC. Freedom of choice, get over it and stop your gatekeeping. - VOLBANKER_PC4 years agoSeasoned Ace@ReisenQuin I didn’t mean to change the subject, but the main reason people usually give for wanting MK support is because they (think they) can’t accustom themselves to playing with a controller. So I just wanted to state that I did, and that I thought it wasn’t so hard. But fair enough, I shouldn’t have tagged you as it was more a general comment than a comment meant as a reply to what you wrote above.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@ReisenQuin The use of emulators goes beyond the advantage afforded by standard M&KB and is considered by many as cheating.
Correct..
Point being they are already readily prevalent on consoles. The concern of the consoles being invaded by KBM users should be worried more so about the emulators.
- 4 years ago@VOLBANKER_PC all good, see you on the battlefield
- Lancelot_du_Lac4 years agoSeasoned Ace@ReisenQuin Does this mean that Cronus Zen have sold 137,397 units up to the end of September? Just trying to understand the data.
