Will Battlefield work on Intel Gen 12 CPUs?

Intel has published a list of games that will not work with their 12gen processors due to DRM, however it is not clear if the list is exhaustive or only for already released games:

It would be a solid bummer if someone gets the latest Intel CPU only to find out it is not working.

  • That list is an exhaustive list compiled by intel.

It's unlikely you'll face any issues with 2042 using a 12th gen intel CPU.

At most ( if your board supports 11th gen also )  you may need to simply install the latest Bios from your motherboard manufacturer website from the support page  ( including Beta Bios's )

But if you've bought both a motherboard AND CPU You'll only need to update the bios to the latest non-beta build as the support will be there for the chip already.

Only those games listed currently have no support with the 12th gen intel CPU's and they will release hotfixes either themselves,  or the game devs will need to add support from their end.

  • I asked a few tech wizards since I'm super computer illiterate but they assure me you far exceed the minimum recommendations and should be good to go; keep in mind there is a possibility of a day 1 patch that can add 12th gen support so if you are still on the fence, there is always the option of playing the 10 hour trial to judge performance 🙂

@TTZ_Dipsy Cheers for that Dipzy, but I think the issue is not related to the CPU performance but the Digital Rights Management (DRM) features in the CPU that are in place to prevent illegal copying and piracy.
  • So,

What I know is that there maybe BIOS updates and work arounds to fix the incompatability with DRM later on.

    But!

There are no previous battlefield games on the list of affected games which means 2042 should be fine.

this game doesn't have denuvo, so its gonna work fine.

  • @TrasteThI am quite confident you are good.

Since we have confirmation that Battlefield 2042 works with Windows 11 from the Open Beta, that should be all that is needed since Windows will handle the processor scheduling on Battlefield 2042's behalf.

@TrasteTh  this specific problem was brought up on tech boards weeks ago before intel made a list lol.

anyway yeah don't worry about it, its only denuvo protected games.
