When does EA/Dice ever learn?
2042 looks like someone studied BFV, with a specific focus on finding the ideas that did not go down well with players, and then built the new game around what they found.
I've lost count of how many times, following a game launch, Dice promise to improve feedback. Then do the same feedback as before with a silly hat on.
Listening is not what Dice does.
Now, if Dice were to publish a list of what the lessons they've learned actually are, then maybe, just maybe, they could be considered to be trying.
Wouldn't surprise me if Dice Sweden doubles down on everything that made this game a failure because they didn't learn a thing from BF5's and Battlefront 2's failures.

@-DFA-Thumpthey won't learn until we stop pre ordering and buying in first few days of launch. until the relationship between EA and customers changes to EA proving to customers that the game is good before they buy nothing will change
**edit** having said that, i'm not buying the next game no matter how good it is. i didn't buy bfV cause of Sonderlund, i will skip next one because of this debacle.

This
People need to put their money where their mouth is and stop making an early purchase they regret.
BF games had been comming out in what can be considered an early beta state since at least BF3. It is just that BF2042 and BFV also had bad ideas as a core concept.

BF2042 is truly the beginning of the end for the BF franchise. All they had to do is take the best stuff from BF 3 & 4 and put it in the BF2042 setting. This would have made the ultimate BF game, but the franchise is ruined and if they carry on with this direction with specialists etc, then it truly is on its deathbed.
BF2042 is BF in name only, if they wanted to win fans back they would do what i said above, which is not going to happen due to greed and trend chasing. BF should be its own thing, no need to try copy others.
They may as well take Battlefield out of the name of this and future games, because they are not, and will be not what makes a Battlefield game
- @Psubond Mmmmhmmmmmmmmmm. Same.
I don't expect them to learn. With BFV, they had just finally started to do things right - the Pacific content was amazing, and I almost exclusively played those maps when they released. I was very happy with the progress BFV was making. Then they go and cancel it to work on 2042. What an insult. What a kick in the nuts. They don't give a crap.

I'd say there is a less than 0% chance that anyone from EA/DICE will speak to that video or the majority of others that state the same thing. There's virtually nothing to gain from it from their side.

@Anobixthey just going to go in the direction they want to, and not listen to everyone else trying to tell them otherwise. Battlefield will never be the same again.
Its a shame but probably the most likely situation. BF was always my main FPS, but watching it burn and turn to ash like this hurts, as I dont really have another main FPS. Unless they do a massive u-turn for the next game, then Battlefield will just always be a hollow husk of its former self and continue to fade into history.
I mean what do we know, we only been playing them for 20ish years, apparently EA knows what is best for the franchise
