Will MOD Hazard Zone be "kiss of death" for Escape from Tarkov

I have a question about the MOD Hazard Zone (inspired by EFT), is there any forum about this mode or possible contact with dev?

Basically, it's a very good direction, a completely new Target segment, the idea itself has a lot of potential, as long as it will of course be implemented in a wide range (similar to Activision with PUBG - I hope so, but there is no information about the scope of this inspiration). Currently, EFT is dying, they are going exactly nowhere, great aspirations supported by little experience, a wrongly chosen engine (which they already admit to themselves) and a whole long list of problems that they partially fix but there are also those that will not be solved at all. The EFT community is fed up with the lack of competences of untapped DEVs that run out of money and time, Beta for over 4 years (Dev's attention to problems ends with bans on the forum), the opera producer his profits on the favor of TTV and turns a blind eye to cheats, a bit of it shocking, the servers are empty, the end of the work is not in sight, the dates of patches are still postponed and for dessert, one should also remember about such new opportunities as provided by, for example, Unreal Eengine 5, so now the whole EFT world does not shock with the quality of the graphics, let alone on the day premieres - if in general, maybe in a few years? On the other hand, the very idea of ??combining something stylized as ala Fallout with a huge base of weapon modifications, some simplified mode of economy, including the ala ebay exchange, the production system, and also what creates probably the biggest difference and the quality of fun, i.e. the thrill resulting from the possibility of losing spokesmen contributed to the raid , the style of quick and realistic clashes, the system of damage and healing, quests, etc., is worth supporting by a better organized and competent team (my opinion and a dozen or so people with whom I spent a lot of time in EFT, there are also a lot of such opinions on the forum and channels players). Yes, according to some people, EFT is difficult, but in my opinion, this is a great challenge, which means that, for example, over 3k hours spent without getting bored is no exception in this title. Despite the lack of details, HZ can be a real "kiss of death" for EFT, for which I am already keeping my fingers crossed.

    @bodyguardOfJesusthanks for clarifications/detailed response

    I only played arma 1 and aircraft there were something that reminded me mostly of bf2 really. On the ground it definitely was way better. Because of that subpar air performance compared to say LoMAC, that I could compare it to, I didnt bother with either 2 or 3. Nice to know your high opinion of it.

    as for changing Bf games ? I would be one of those 'no one's that would not mind changing it, things like netcode that benefits higher numbers and similar nonsense like bullets flying slow, vehicles on afterburner etc.

    Im not decided to buy the game so it is highly likely I wont buy this one even, because it might not fit my style and if I will, Ill just play pre-frostbite bf games with bots instead. Better than nothing.

  • Develop / lite analysis. BF already has its position on the market, I'm guessing because I haven't got to any specifics yet, but Patrick Bach once described the main directions of the BF series with three words: "dynamics, epicness, fun" and "the right pace counts" We got to this place, EFT It also has it, and moreover, for example, realism and a constant thrill that no other game has - the reason is simple, you may lose something - so we are talking about two completely different productions, the question is how close Hard Zone will be to the inspiration. EFT has a freshness and complexity several hundred times greater than BF (the problem is developers with little experience, for the same reason, among others: PUBG, Citizen and a few other titles). I assume that Hazard Zone is not about duplicating what is already there, loyal customers on a simple pif! puffs! read: "balance between realism and fun" they caught such a target and already have it. In my opinion, Hazard Zone may be an attempt to acquire a completely new client. There are several statements in favor of this, for example, noticing threats and willingness to change expressed as: "long-term commitment to the game". Portal mode will not do that, yes, it will revive the ideas of old maps or funny mixes, but for how long and who they will catch, in my opinion they will hold the current community at the expense of the evolution of the animation such as: entering / leaving the vehicle (this is not a trifle but a flavor and increasing inertia, it does not change the dynamics significantly - the main reason is the Portal). However, I understand that this situation results from the habits / expectations of the players and less from the amount of considerable work (expanding the character movement sequence) good, BF has his loyal fans, let them have what they expect. Hazard Zone as a MOD, however, can be a completely new quality / different path to success, if, of course, they focus on the topic. EA does not lose anything, they already have BF, but they can, based on their many years of experience, build what they partially strived for in the last two installments of BF and realize an increase in realism, MOD HZ will simply build its own separate community, and fun in simple pif! puffs! can you leave it as it is, simplify the animations? ok, you have to and until the title expires by itself (with the increasing age and experience of players) let people chase. Let's make an agreement, sooner or later a simple arcade game will get bored, Activision in Warzone serves customers with electric shocks in the form of seasons, map reconfiguration and epochs, they will undoubtedly extend the life of the title, but how much can be reflected between the same historical periods, each player will finally tell "it was already" "I'm not interested enough" here a player of Activision caliber enters the stage, but okay, the topic will also end! (at the same time ... EFT is doing an update with a micro something there, they will correct one two bugs, unfortunately often they will make a new four at the same time, add a new armor color etc. and time flies to their disadvantage). At least EA decides to counter Warzone with its Portal, it blew fresh but only for a specific client / target and the market protection is much greater. I am interested specifically if the creation of Hazard Zone means a completely new quality in the BF series, realism (it does not interfere with dynamics or fun, as you write, it puts the fun on a completely new level of difficulty), spend some time playing EFT, then you will understand this trick, they have multiple complexity of the subject, which in turn does not bore you at all (BTW, joke ... although currently the best pro tip for beginners is: don't play, don't install, don't waste time it's a massacre and a waste of nerves for a fatal implementation full of bugs and glitch but ok, you already bought it, unless you uninstall it earlier due to You can catch the atmosphere of absurdities - people who chose EFT will probably not choose BF'42, unless as a simple warm-up or springboard. Realism in the game can be realized not only through ballistics which is missing in BF (see how many ARMA III has different character positions - it's only one direction) little then look at what they did in EFT, now the question is whether there will be as much content in the Hazard Zone - something they have to keep customers. EFT requires concentration, absolutely perfect reflexes because you can die with the first bullet or in 10 seconds you can finish the whole team spectacularly, to play you have to not only stay alive on the map during the raid, but also economically in Hideout, taking into account, for example, the price / efficiency of weapon components and their adaptation to the scenario / map / game style / quest etc. This already assumes strategic thinking, you have a production that brings profit. Little? ok, it is even, and perhaps above all, a selection of ammunition, the whole balance of things used during raids, their weight that you have matched to the map + your familiarity with a given weapon model causes only Win situations (of course, as cases, errors or TTV - but I do not write now about absurdities). at the same time BF players have a simple class selection and hurray chaos assault, reconnaissance, fight etc. It's very good that they have what they probably expect. However, how quickly do you think part of the community from other titles would move to such a Hard Zone after a refined and flawless product using the best EFT features would be created, and moreover, the graphics would be at the EU5 level, how many people lose Studies / titles because bored people stop playing production type: again, half an hour, two magazines and the opponent is still running, not much every 7/10 rounds, evidently a hit from a cheter (as you play for a long time you notice all the small nuances) - Warzone and EFT already have a problem and it's huge for this reason. Activision took the gloves ok, but at EFT recently what has been said from the owner "stop paying attention to cheaters" and with the clap of TTV (you can find in the last video report) eeee yyy he he cosmic, come on, what do they have there in their heads that they come to conclusions about how much they pay with TTV "privileges" and how far from reality the normal game of the rest of the community looks like - that's why the info about Hazard Zone is so electrifying. The problem is that, apart from EFT, there is no such fresh mix of options on the market and no reference to conflict, not epoch and war (realized for the N time by almost every production), a title supported by the post-apo Stalker or Fallout climate (which a lot of people loved it but as you may associate, unfortunately Bethesda studio also failed due to mistakes and lack of skill). Summing up the question of how much DICE Studio will add fire and ideas from itself, how far the MOD will be analyzed and inspired, in my opinion it has a chance to lose nothing, but only gain (I do not know how it will be in the face of the new Stalker - based on UE5), but we write on the website of a large publisher with great potential, so I do not suspect that there will only be a distant shadow of the original. However, I would prefer to comment on the facts rather than pretend, hence my initial question.

    The guys I know who play Tarkov are so invested in that game there is no way Hazard Zone  is going to pull them across..

  • @TomaSkTemplarARMA III is a specific title, it is based on an old engine (it is not realistic in terms of graphics, it looks old, it is also a bit glitchy - that's why I am waiting for the new version they are working on), basically there is a there's $ theme in there but it is a typical classic battlefield simulator or cool, kinda.

    @ShevermiNno way Hazard Zone is going to pull them across - it all depends on how advanced the Hard Zone is, how far they deviate from the BF convention and come closer to what EFT offers. If you got to know the situation from the inside (I recommend subscribing to the EFT forum, read), see the video made with the brand owner - they admit themselves that the new Unity engine created unsolvable problems - and this is only one aspect. There is performance, the audio system is not good, etc. Even such an important thing as hitboxes are not correct, I could write for so long. in its entirety it consists of a nice idea and a poor realization, there is potential there, but that's it). Iin short, if the EFT developers don't change their approach, they won't finish the title successfully (BTW, I spent over 3,100 hours at EFT for about a year. That's why I know exactly what I am writing about, I know the problems, I know the people, their opinions, the pace, or the lack of pace of work on Beta, mistakes, etc.) of course all / or most of them will drop EFT if they have a comparable / or even better alternative that works flawlessly. We are still there, and despite the mistakes, it is the only title with such an engaging profile. Ask whoever you want, people are tired of empty promises. There is also the issue of cheats that I described earlier.
