I very much hope they do continue to support it - PROPERLY.
This game is amazing in many ways (despite glaring flaws IMO) but more maps in the main playlists are a big requirement for me.
I want to see Rotterdam, Devastation, Al Marj etc - won't happen but, metro too.... Heck I'd even take locker.
Zavod ?
OML PLEASE Grand Bazaar! SO SO GOOD (for me)

this game needs and deserves to live its glory days as a YEAR 2 supports.
if it doesn't, another fail move that will cause leaving satisfied 2042 players alone and not gaining playerbase confidence.

i personally doubt it.
but if EA allows DICE to work on this game more then they could maybe actually start fixing the fundamental issues (net-code, performance, overall balance, nonsenical design decisions, UI, etc.....)
but then again i doubt EA will sink a single cent more then already allocated into this and drop it just like Battlefront 2 or BFV or Anthem or the Dead Space IP until recently.....
EA cares about one thing and that is telling their investors how awesome they are at ripping people off - NazT552 years agoSeasoned Ace
That other game usually has 6 seasons before the next one comes out. Would be nice for a couple more seasons. Since they aren't releasing any more specialist them maybe they could focus on Portal more.
- HugeBigness2 years agoRising Vanguard@X-Sunslayer-X Battlefront 2 and BFV were so absurdly good. Two of my fav MP FPS games literally ever.

One can only guess, maybe we will see more content, but I don't hold out much hope.

Portal could definitely do with a lot more content, it needs freshening up with a load more maps. Depends on what you mean with 'support'.
Only shallow support with minor changes to UI, rewards and some damage adjustments here and there? This game is doomed.
Or support as in deep support that fixes the big problems with balance and performance, whilst bringing good big maps that can ACTUALLY facilitate the 128 players with vehicles?
I'm afraid we'll only be getting shallow support.

In the old DLC-days, we didn't get content for 2 years and it is now 1½ years since release. I wouldn't be surprised if season 5 is the last one, but we could be surprised.
The next BF-game is probably October/November 2024 and if Dice Sweden is part of the next BF-game, they have to dedicate all resources for this very soon. Especially if they expect to deliver a functioning game at launch (unlike BFV and BF2042) and try to make a BF-game "for the fans".
- X-Sunslayer-X2 years agoSeasoned Ace@cso7777 the "deliver a functioning game at launch" and "Dice Sweden" part in your last paragraph made me laugh so hard i nearly broke a rib
