You are understanding correctly as it was only the standard digital PS5 and Xbox S/X versions that had the upgrade added to the standard editions (Edit: the Gold and Ultimate editions for PS4/XB1 also have the cross-gen bundle).

Unfortunately, as it states in the article, there isn't an upgrade path currently. That could change in the future but at the moment you'd need to by the Xbox S/X version.
Thanks for the reply. That just seems so ridiculous to me. Why offer a version that only has the old gen for 60, or a version that comes with both the old and new gen, also for 60?

On my local store the Ps4 version was A LOT cheaper than the Ps5 cross-gen bundle.
