@NutcrusherrServer browser would be a mistake because some maps and game modes would never get played again. This is was what happened in all the previous BFs. Just look at Portal and how little variety there is even there. When it comes to matchmaking for the main game, ditching a server browser was absolutely the sensible move and it all goes back to lessons in behavioral economics.

don't let them pick what they want to play because then they will play what they like and not play what they don't like

@PsubondFacts don't care about your feelings. I'm all for free choice and that's great to strive for; that doesn't make it good policy in every scenario.

i've taken a few courses. and your "facts don't care about your feelings" line you stole from ben shapiro desn't apply here.
a game that isn't fun to play and that forces you to play * maps (that you hate) over and over isn't more likely to retain players than being able to choose what you play.
- @Psubond Sure does apply. (You watch Ben Shapiro? Cringe, dude.) Those maps/modes I listed were never played because the community always voted to play other options all the time. That's what happens. You didn't refute that btw, so you concede that map/mode variety goes down when players have complete control over what they get to play. You're OK with that, I'm not. Deal with it.
Also, DICE literally gave you the best of both worlds with Portal. You CAN play what you want to play.

@AnarchiesxWhen is the last time you played Battlefield 4? Because none of what you say matches up with the reality of BF4.
I've repeatedly returned to BF4 over the years and played all these maps. As recently as a couple weeks ago, I was on BF4 and played Lancang Dam, Giants of Karelia, and Nansha Strike.
When BF4 was the current release, DICE always had DLC servers full of players rotating through each DLC pack. Launch map servers rotated all launch maps.

Its just like the whole "DLC Splits the community" nonsese. Back in 2014-2015, I would run BF4 marathons, playing all maps starting with launch maps. I'd rotate through a launch server, then a China Rising DLC server, then a Second Assault DLC Server, on and on.I also played Carrier Assualt a lot. My friends liked to play the smaller game modes.
Now you can't find a lot of game modes because the player base is so much smaller than it was back in 2014-2015. Matchmaking isn't going to help that.
I just played the other night - a bunch of these maps he mentioned were there.

@AnarchiesxJust played BF4 on PS5. Dropped into the Smokey and Combat server running DLC maps.
First map: Lost Islands
Second map: Nansha StrikeChecked the server list...next map is Gullin Peaks followed by Dragon Pass. I drop into BF4 in 2023 and find a server running 4 of the maps you claim no one plays on lol!!!
Seriously man. Econ Course? I took the only course that matters here...18 years and thousands of hours of actually playing Battlefield!!- @ArchAngeL-PCX The econ course reference was pretty funny.
