- @Hudson009 They largely useless on their own, but my friends and I have found that when combined with squad mates armed with a stingers, the hack stops the heli pilots popping flares. With voice coms and two people ready with stingers, you can demoralize the enemy helicopter pilots very quickly.
@RAMBO2k9During the game: Sundance. Sorry but she's OP as hell between the wingsuit and the very handy grenades. Almost every time I get flanked, it's a Sundance.
After the game: All of them. I cannot stand the voice lines.
(Also, every time I hear Boris, I just can't help but think..."it costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this veaspon...for tvelve seconds.")- TTZ_Dipsy4 years agoHero+
Irish is pretty pointless in my opinion - yeah the shields are indestructible, but you're left cmpletely immobile and the sentinels are way too situational (plus it's annoying trying to hotswap between them in the heat of battle. Shields being able to block elevator doors will be removed soon so there goes that. I think Irish's progression would have been much more managable if his shields blocking projectiles counted towards T1
I don't really like the way Sundance controls via wingsuit, and I don't find her grenades to be all that special. - @TTZ_Dipsy I found Irish useful in one situation only so far, and that was playing Rush. Drop one of those shootdown sentinels near an MCOM (either after arming as attackers, or as defending) and watch the +5 xp roll in. Other than that, I agree with you, it's way too narrowly focused and situational. Which is too bad because since BF4 was my first Battlefield, Irish would be the one I'd play out of all these idiots if he was more useful. But since I am a support dweeb, I'm out here on Mutti Falck like so many others just so I can be useful.
Sundance, cause of her dumb childish comments at the end...
Do I really have to choose? ....I hate them all.
I hate the concept of hero characters and the more silly special abilities. I would much rather have more generic looking soldiers like we had with the classes of old with abilities that made at least a little more sense.
Personally, my ideal setup would be the classes with the ability for players to customize their faces and gear. .....hair, color, gender, face, camo, kit, etc. EA / DICE could still make a ton of money on outfits, new camos, special gear and so on. This allows players to create avatars that are more an extension of themselves. They can feel more immersed in the experience with characters that are more representative of themselves. ....more unique than a bunch of clones running around.
Personalization is a huge deal in games today and I think EA / DICE is missing out on a big opportunity by forcing players to choose predefined characters they may not feel a connection with for various reasons.
Any one of them. I hate that DICE decided to out flashy cartoon characters in Battlefield

Sundance might have a few too many benefits without having much of a drawback though. I don't think I'm alone in thinking that they may need a tweak. Roa could do with one too, but to improve him a bit and make him more useful, other than anything else.
From a game play perspective, agree.
The more I play the game, the more the end of round one liners are starting to grate on me.
Boris, Mackay, Sundance, Paik, Dozer and Irish (just his perk / gadget, not the character itself). Easy fixes for them:
- Give them some serious looks and attitudes
- Boris: Remove that stupid aimbot turret and let him build fortifications or stationary weapons
- Mackay: Remove that stupid selfish grapple hook and his ads perk. Give him limited ziplines for the whole squad
- Sundance: Limited grenades, cooldown on her wingsuit and make her deploy a parachute
- Paik: Just remove that stupid wallhack and remove that stupid passive wallhack. Wtf even is this? Other players are punished for shooting on her
- Dozer: Selfish perk, should be replaced by a team perk
- Irish: Remove his stupid armour plates, let him build fortifications and let him repair vehicles faster
Other than that: Remove stupid selfish gadgets like armor plates and self healing pens.
