Hiya,
This seems like its already popped up a couple of times in some ryzen systems. Just recently built a new pc and started from a fresh installation of windows 11, installing a copy of the game from the EA app to the same m.2 drive, albeit a different partition (in case my boot dies, so i can just wipe the one partition and go again. lesson learnt)
similar description of events to what has happened with @CrackConnolsseur @MadManMatrix. Correlation i can find between systems is AMD Ryzen systems, but nothing concrete. Have already done all the troubleshooting steps listed (Launch EA as admin, reinstall EA, Launch EAC installer as admin, repair as admin, uninstall EAC, deleting x86 EAC files, reinstalling EAC as admin, launching 2042 launcher as admin, giving admin priority to all EA sub-applications including EAC and 2042, repairing 2042, uninstalling 2042, deleting 2042 files in documents (note that is lacking a settings file even after a wipe and repair) reinstalling 2042 with admin.
I've exhausted all conventional means, DxDiag in post. Note, BIOS is up to date, AMD Chipset drivers up to date, NVIDIA drivers up to date, Windows 11 Installation up to date. i have a X3D chip and utilize the Chipset's functionality to park cores when a game is detected as running to maximize the L3 cache. works a treat in other EAC games (notably War Thunder, the other game i have installed that utilizes EAC and works just dandy)
System is as chip and chippers as it could possibly be, only fault and similarity in faults i can find so far is Ryzen AM5 chipset and drivers and NVIDIA RTX graphics card, all up to date. don't believe it to be related to EAC, works fine in War Thunder, but then again the configuration for 2042 might be a bit more,,, particular.
Maybe some command line boot options for the game to force it to start in windowed low resolution? Not my schtick, I am out of ideas.

Hey mate, I managed to fix it (Or atleast patch it) by literally disabling my Sata controller in my bios every time I want to play 2042 (Unplugging sata drives worked as well). Its a massive pain in the arse but it does seem to work.
Ill go back and update my old posts as at the time I was too pissed off to actually go back to them and update it.
Hopefully this works for you as well mate, Its utterly ridiculous that this sort of issue even exists in 2042, an issue that's been around since launch at that.- 3 years ago
you know what, i've got a collapsed raid array just sitting on some HDD's in my rig, it might actually have something to do with that. i unfortunately can't just disconnect my SATA drives as they're pretty deeply integrated with the software i use daily, but that broken raid array might be the cause of all my heartache. I'll give it a shot and report back. I can't be the only one stupid enough to run RAID 0 for the memes XD

you sir are a legend.
I wasn't really too bothered to get round to fixing that array, turns out the twin drives, one stuck in RAID the other in AHCI was being picked up by EAC as a potentially cheat injection method.
You have single handedly saved me a world of headache, it would've been months before i ran low on hard disk and needed to reconfigure those drives.
So, Update for how i fixed my broken ahh computer.
If you're coming from an older system and have collapsed or non-formatted disks installed that aren't in use, remove them or reformat them for the installation you currently have. the data is likely already gone for good anyways, if not obtain another drive of equal capacity and attempt to recover what you will, then format the old drives (this is what i had initially done before upgrading from my intel z170 rig to my AMD AM5 rig, thankfully saved 4tb of data, ended up losing 1tb to a dodgy installation of windows on an MBR m.2 SSD cause i am a colossal *)
after erasing all remnants of my old RAID array and formatting the drives, lo and behold! not only is 2042 alive, but a whole bunch of other games i thought i'd simply lost to the void due to new pc teething issues.
