Hi devs I, -throwedppl have been playing battlefield games since Halloween 2002 I saw battlefield 1942 for sale at my local best buy. Being a ww2 nerd of course I thought it had the coolest box art and so I bought it. To say launches have been tumultuous after that might be an understatement. I must say this time isn't as bad as say, battlefield 4's launch. The issue I'm having is 2042 doesn't gracefully resume from alt tab, even on grossly overpowered hardware. In this case x570 chipset, 5900x at 4.8 ghz all core on water, 2080ti on water, 1440p, 128GB ram, 8TB of pcie 4.0 ssds et al. When i try to alt tab back to it nothing happens, same thing (nothing) happens when i try to click on it in the taskbar. Windows 11 stable build as of today.

@EA_Atic I haven't noticed it happen since 1.1 so hopefully it's fixed. Will post back if it happens again.

Hey @-throwedppl, are you running any overlays in the background by any chance?

No the only overlay I use is frostbite perfoverlay.drawfps 1 like I've been doing for years and years

No, I knew what you meant and run nothing like that. Idk why you think I can pc game for more than twenty years and not get the gist of your query. No overlays @EA_Atic For the record I began pc gaming in 1993 and sold all my consoles to pay for pc parts in 2003.

How many monitors are you running? Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

@EA_Atic Same issue. Using 2 displays, game on main display. It actually helps if I use old Origin app and use Alt+F1 to open an overlay. Only in that case the game won't freeze when I get back from another display. New beta launcher - that doesn't help. All drivers are up to date. Discrod and driver overlay ain't running. Need DXdiag?

Looks like closing Edge solved most of issues.

@EA_Atic was there ever a fix for this? I still get the same issue.
1/5 times I alt+tab out of the game and alt+tab and win+tab no longer function/don't trigger the windows selection, nor can I activate 2042 by clicking the taskbar icon, it just flashes orange. If I kill 2042 from task manager functionality returns to normal.
No other game or application causes this.
One monitor, nVidia overlay only. Dxdiag attached.
