It's normal for 3 files to be replaced during validate integrity. They are EA anti-cheat files. EA's anti-cheat developer explain more in the link below.

I'm not sure if the crash is caused by the anti-cheat files or something else is causing it. You can check Windows Event Viewer for software errors
There might also be crash dumps in C:\Users\joshu\Documents\Battlefield 2042\CrashDumps but you probably need to use debugging software such as WinDbg to analyze the crash dump file.
