Summarize your bug Prior to patch 1.1 used to get a locked 72fps. Now, after patch 1.1, I get 72fps for one round, but by the end of the round the performance drops to 50-60fps and never recovers, even in the main menu (whenever there are 3D object to be rendered), until the game is restarted. I’ve entered rounds where the FPS immediately tanked to 30-40 FPS and by the end of the round was getting drops to 20 FPS
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play more than one round
What happens when the bug occurs? FPS progressively drops below the locked 72 FPS I was getting prior to patch 1.1
What should be happening instead? 72 FPS with current graphics config and hardware
Additional specs:
Windows Version: 11
Windows Build Number: 22000
CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X
GPU Driver Version: 516.59
HDD: NVME
Troubleshooting steps taken so far:
- Ensured Windows and Nvidia drivers are up to date
- Initially cleared BF2042 cache but then stopped after learning about the new shader caching updates. Issue persists beyond shader cache being rebuilt
- Restarting the game and Windows
- Ensured read/write permissions enabled on the Documents folder and all sub-folders
I’ve noticed that while I’m getting the expected 72 FPS, my GPU usage is hovering around 80-95% but when the sustained FPS drops kick in, the GPU becomes locked at 100% and frametimes exhibit a strange spiking pattern (see attachment).
