Summarize your bug Variable Zoom Key binding not assignable - Hard-coded to "F"
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Equip a scope with variable range.
What happens when the bug occurs? Unable to assign a key for this in Key Bindings, but hitting "F" works in-game.
What should be happening instead? Should be able to set this function in Key Bindings.
There is no entry in Key Bindings - "On Foot" mappings relating to 'variable zoom' or 'change zoom level'. And yet in game if you press "F", it toggles the variable zoom of any scope labeled as such.
If you look in Key Bindings - "Gunner" section, there is a function called "Switch Weapon" that is seemingly hard-coded to "F" for keyboard, "Scroll Wheel Up.." for mouse and Y button for Controller that CANNOT BE CLEARED OR CHANGED. And in game only F seems to actually change the zoom level - not Scroll Wheel or 'Y'.
Interestingly, this same entry (Switch Weapon) is also listed under the "Vehicle Driver" and "Pilot" sections, but you CAN successfully re-map F to something else and they work for their respective functions in vehicles. So this shouldn't be difficult to correct.
This function needs to be remap-able on all 3 inputs for the "On Foot" section of Key Bindings and named something simple like "change zoom" or just "variable scope" and apply to any scopes that have variable zooms (very common mouse key bind for sniper scopes).
@BlackBriar80If you've taken a peek at your PROFSAVE_profile (given the recent mouselook bug), I wonder if some of the F hardcodes can be cleared by deleting the matching command. Would also help if someone can explain how PROFSAVE works.
F key also appears in main menu as a "third option" key.
you can remap go to mouse and keyboard than edit keys than go to weapons and Equpment than scroll down to toggle scope
