In the task manager, find your audio driver (maybe audio control panel), right-click on it, select "go to details", then set the priority for audio drivers to "above normal". The BF2042 game is very CPU-intensive, if the CPU is fully loaded, i.e. ~100%, it is very possible that all processes will "freeze" for a while.
By the word "freezing" I mean a situation in which less important processes wait until more important processes are recalculated by the processor, and only when processes with higher priority are recalculated, the CPU deals with other tasks.
Changing the priority for the audio driver will cause it to be given priority, which should fix the audio problem as the processor will process the voice first, followed by other processes.
By changing the priority for the audio driver to "above normal", I practically eliminated the sound error 100%. It happens once in 10 times that the sound error occurs, then I restart the computer (clear the buffer) and the problem disappears.
If you don't have a program to set automatic priority for a given process, you will have to do it manually each time you start Windows.
