Battle field 2042 can’t find friend

My friend has PC I have Xbox. We both have cross platform enabled. I search his name comes under an Xbox account. Send invitation he does not receive. He does the same thing to send me an invitation and yet I do not receive anything. 
we tried all the steps through website nothing works what can I do.
