drop in internet speed when I launch bf 2042

Hello,

I have a problem with a drop in internet speed when I launch Battlfield 2042, I use ookla speedtest, I have an average speed of 800mbps but as soon as I launch BF2042 the speed drops to 300mbps on average or even a little less 150mbps I have carried out several tests and it is still the case. on the other hand with the other batlfields, 3, 4 and 1, the flow remains good. for information, I have an amd rx6950xt card with the latest bios and my motherboard is flashed with the latest update Also, I want to say that this problem appeared since the last update of the game.

thanks for helping me

have a nice day.

  • Do you have two PCs? If so run an internet speed test on the second PC while the Battlefield 2042 PC is playing multiplayer.

If the internet speed doesn't drop on the second PC then it narrows the problem down to the Battlefield PC.

It could be Battlefield is stressing the CPU so hard that it's slowing down it's ability to process ethernet traffic. Or there could be some sort of Quality of Service (QoS) network prioritization software running in Windows or on the home router that's manipulating network traffic.

It should be possible to rule out QoS on the router by running a speed test with a second PC as mentioned above. If the internet speed doesn't drop on the second PC then there's probably no QoS running on the router that's affecting internet speed.

thank you for your response unfortunately, I don't have another PC at home on the other hand as soon as I launch the game Battlfield 2042 the speed drops too low and sometimes even the PC freezes and freezes, having to restart it by keeping the power button pressed I tried battlefield V and no problem, also with battlefield 1 This problem appeared just after the last update I updated all the drivers clean the registry, but without success

Try pressing alt + ctrl + del and monitoring CPU usage. I suspect high CPU usage might be causing the slowdown.

See if CPU usage is lower with Battlefield V and 1 compared to Battlefield 2042.
