I had the same issue where I can get into the main menu of the game but whenever I try to join a match in any mode, it gives me a countdown timer and then the game goes black screen and then kicks me back to the main menu. This only happened after updating my game to season 5 today.
the only way that fixed the issue was to download a vpn service on my pc and turning it on before launching any battlefield game. I saw on another thread that it might be network issues, from an EA rep, but to no conclusive solution.
I thought people complaining about the state of this game was a genuine joke, and I actually enjoyed the game, but this is rubbing me off in the wrong way. Even cod mw2 fixes their issues almost the next morning.
Maybe opening router ports would help.
