This is what I did and it seemed to have worked SETTINGS-(in the box type graphics)
-click on graphic settings-TURN ON VARIABLE REFRESH RATE-under Graphics performance preference
-DESKTOP APP-BROWS FOR Battlefield-find (BF2042.exe)
add-options choose High Performance-SAVE

IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THE PICTURE (WINDOWS 10)
