Battlefield 2042 DirectX error
Product: Battlefield 2042 Platform:Steam-PC Please specify your platform model. PC AMD or Nvidia Model Number RTX 3080 Enter RAM memory size in GB 32GB Are you using any software with an overlay...
Nvidia 1650
Been having the same issue. Also have an issue where game freezes or goes black and have to hard boot the comp.
graphics drivers are up to date.
Not making any changes to any of the software or hardware on the comp
What i did find, or what seems to be working right now (that can all change) is i went to graphic settings in the game, changed from full screen to borderless. Game hasnt crashed since.
Prior to that, restarted the game 3 times, the computer twice. going on 3 hours now, and all good
@Camer0nPG did it solve your isseu what @BackwoodsRaider said ?
@Camer0nPG What brand of MEM do you got ?
i see you did oc mem to 6000mhz.
Did ya use an xmp profile ? and did ya try other xmp profiles ?
In my system bios i can disable XMP profiles and oc mem by ddr5 xmp booster !
Try an other XMP profiles , in my system i can do it with , see xmp profile picture.
Buit that was not stable/compatible, none of the 3 profiles even after latest bios upgrade !
So i disabled xmp profiles by disable DDR5 AUTO BOOSTER .
Then i check in DDR5 XMP BOOSTER the HYNIX X.M.P. 6000 40 40 40 80 1.350
(HYNIX IS FOR KINGSTON FURY BEAST)
see DDR XMP BOOSTER picture !
I know you got a different brand MB , but maybe something look a like this is possible ?
Try not to use an xmp profile! But set RAM manualy at 6000mhz
PS the PSU is it connected to the 4 pin power at your mb , or do you use the 8 pin power connecter at MB ?
also got latest bios version 1702?
It ran for a long time, no issues. Then it popped up again mid game. Game over, return to menu, black screen and nothing. solution did not solve the problem
Edit - i dont run any other programs to solve this. like i read here. this is the only game it happens on, and i play alot of various titles. not fiddling with my system because this game has issues.
@Camer0nPG you could just try it to see if it does anything for your issue !
if it doesnt work you could always restore to old settings.
z690 boards (all brands) are known with different issues at software/hardware and memory related issues, xmp,oc,voltage blablabla
some software/hardware updates mess things up, if it is windows , bf2042 or any other software , doesnt matter !

Did you buy memory that was in the QVL list ?
ps also disable dls in options/display (if its enable) test your game !
@camer0npgAnd if ya use a XMP profile you get an directx error ? If ya disable XMP profiles, and use the DDR5 XMP BOOSTER option and set at 6000Mhz - Samsung ?
See picture, dont select HYNIX , is for Kingston. BUT select SAMSUNG for your gskill

Disable DDR5 AUTO BOOSTER first. Then select the DDR5 XMP BOOSTER
FORGET EVERTYTHING @Camer0nPG
Read this https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?130207-BIOS-v1720-Compulsory-Update-Mega-Thread
Bios1720 Got some issues
Newest bios
@camer0npgmwhat you could do is, get back in the bios , LOAD OPTIMIZED DEFAULTS ! THEN SAVE / EXIT
Then check if anything changed with settings from memory in bios , just dont change anything yet. Try game first and see what happens !!
IF gsme runs OK,. try oc mem , different profiles , or even manually !
flashback in dos mode !!!!
