See my previous post, disable all in game overlays, lower graphic settings and follow the steps to disable HDR and you should be fine.

Ok there's a few options here, first try to open the game with your antivirus/windows defender disabled, to see if the antivirus doesn't block the game. If so and to fix it permanently, you need to add the BF2042 install folder + EA/Steam launcher as exceptions in the antivirus or windows defender.
Make sure you’ve got all the required runtimes installed, update windows fully, install the latest DirectX, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables and the latest .NET Framework. Without those the game won’t start.
Update you graphic drivers. Check the integrity of your game files. Disable Steam/EA/Nvidia overlay.
That's about it, if it doesn't work, buy a new pc 😄 What rig & gpu do you have?
I don't think that's the problem because the game crashes the computer
