Battlefield 2042 Ping Issues PC

My Battlefield 2042 is currently unplayable on pc. It works fine on Series x ill usually average 50-60 ping, but when I play on pc I have 1,000+ ping, horrible packet loss, and rubber banding. I've tried playing it through both Steam and Xbox game bar but I still have the same issues on both launchers. Anybody know of fixes for this?

  • Never had this issue but I am from EU. Used to have packet loss back in the beginning of Battlefield 1 but no issues on any other BF game regarding PING. I guess it just the server and there won't be anything you can do. You can try flushing your DNS and see how that can help:

Is it safe to flush DNS you might ask?
Clearing the DNS server will remove any invalid addresses, whether because they're outdated or because they've been manipulated. It's also important to note flushing the cache doesn't have any negative side effects.

What is DNS? - Domain Name System

    How to flush it:

1.At the bottom left corner, type 'cmd' in the Start menu's search bar, and press Enter.
2.Type 'ipconfig /flushdns' in the Command Prompt, and press Enter.

3.The user has now flushed the DNS Cache and will receive a message that they have successfully done so.

  • @Spungus23there could be a plenty of issues... try first a speedtest (speedtest.net or whatever) to see if it's even without bf running.
maybe some background downloads/updates/applications or whatever is running on your pc that is draining your internet connection

  • Ive had the identical issue. Although I always played 2042 on pc since i bought it in late July 2021, ping, packet loss and rubber banding was never a issue to me until a month ago. Its the only game i have these issues with so i don't believe its my internet connection. My pc specs are also more than capable of running the game so thats not the issue either (3080 and 12th gen intel cpu).

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but didn't work. Updated my gpu drivers, checked for latest bios update and verified my game files.

CORRECTION: Im having this issue with all battlefield games. Played COD WZ2 and it ran just fine so not sure what it is

  • Playing right now talking with other players we ALL have pings over 80 ... this games getting worse and worse what the heck is going on!!!
