I also got this issue. I assume the change was accidental, since nothing was mentioned in the patch notes.
Would be great to find out if/when this will be fixed.
I don't think it's a "change accidental". I'm sure it's a bug they got introduced. It needs to be fixed ASAP especially since season 5 just started and that doesn't look good on them right now. Having a mode like portal being bugged like this is pretty bad. Mostly because a lot of people love portal and it has so much potential.
