This has happened since launch occasionally but today was extremely bad.
My Series x either completely shut down or went back to the dashboard after freezing during matches in BF 2042 (5) times today.
My Series X is well taken care of super clean in a well ventilated area, and this ONLY happens with this game.
I did hard resets, unplugged my Series x and all the other technical support strategies, and it’s still happening.
This is unacceptable, one or twice a week i could deal with but this is the first time it happened 5 damn times in one day.
I play all my other games on the reg and this never happens, but this game has been shutting down my Series X periodically since launch.

Hey @OldSkoolzFinest,
Cheers for the report.
In the past, these kinds of unfortunate happenings were usually caused by unstable Xbox Firmware, AKA maybe being on the Xbox Insiders (Preview) Firmware branch. Are you also using the Preview Xbox firmware?
We have also seen that it could be caused by certain Power State options: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Xbox-Series-X-BF2042-Crash-Persists/td-p/11024163.
Could you maybe give those steps a try?

@EA_LeeuwI’m not part of the Xbox insider program and my Xbox has always been on the lower power state option since it released.
I’ve seen many threads from reddit to Microsoft of many players only having this issue with this Particular BF only on the Series X with no resolution for most.
Like i said this is only happening with this game. I play all kinds of good quality games from different genres and this never happens to my Xbox leading me to believe it’s poor optimization on the games part, or possibly the introduction of crossplay with PC players causing unstable servers since this didn’t happen on past BF for me. I’m not a developer just a long time gamer so i can only guess.
Thanks for the help……

SOLUTION! PLEASE UPVOTE SO EVERYONE SEES
I had this problem with fifa 22. Now having same problem with 2042. EA is a disaster.
The only 2 things that seem to work are
1. Play the Xbox One version of the game
2. Delete all saved data for the game.
- Hover over 2042, hit start, hit manage game and add-ons, I believe there is a section that says saved data. If not scroll around you will find it (not in front of my xbox rn sorry). You will see 2 parts of this saved data. Hit delete on both of them, and hit delete everywhere on both of them. Not sure if necessary to uninstall after this but I did, and I haven’t crashed since.
You might have to go through the entire setup again (brightness, FOV sensitivity, etc) but it’s better than the game crashing every match.
I hope this works for you.- 2 years ago@bauswraith This is NOT the solution please stop posting fake solutions!

- 2 years ago@OldSkoolzFinest My battlefield 2042 crashed my XSX every time. I tried reset whole system and it still happens.

Dealing with the same thing since downloading the new season. It doesn’t happen when playing portal though. Only on the new map.

It's just that now some xsx season 7 is working fine from the start and others are suddenly experiencing problems they didn't have before. I have a high level since the premiere because my console previously (almost 2 years) did not have crushy. My problems have been lurking for somewhere around a year.
It is normal for a console to have a lot of components which will differ slightly in performance despite being the same product. As you can see activision and the developers know how to deal with this because they are not amateurs like the people at new Dice.

@OChazmat That's something Dice are aware of and are releasing a hot-fix for:
