Battlefield Portal games not loading
I love Battlefield Portal but I am unable to get the games to load after update #3 when I host my own server. I am playing on Xbox One.
At first, it seemed like the games would load better when I changed the teams but now it happens 100% of the time.
I am just setting up AI matches so it isn’t an issue with waiting for players.
My internet connection is good and strong. I can play the game fine by selecting All out warfare and then selecting Solo or Multiplayer.
I think this is a technical issues. Please help if I am doing something wrong. I was using the online app with Portal hosting my experiences prior to update 3 just fine and it was working. I have even tried creating a brand new experience from scratch after update 3 and it doesn’t load either. I’m not getting any error messages. The loading screen completes and transitions to the map overview screen but doesn’t show the objectives, based, outlines or anything. The only thing I can do is leave the game.
UPDATE #2 -
I continued to play around with the settings/options in Portal and I have discovered the option that causes Portal games to not load.
In the portal app, you can select different types of AI between PVE AI and PVP AI. Being that I am creating personal experiences, I usually just selected PVE AI, which I discovered causes the Portal game to not load. When I select PVP AI and host the portal game, it first goes to a loading screen with my player card and a message saying "Waiting for other players to join". This allows the game to load properly. I hope this helps everyone who is experiencing this issue and potentially help the developers figure out where the issue is.
