Having the same problems with no answer from ea. I have recommended hardware and a good internet connection. tried all the fixes and i even had my router and modem replaced. Very frustrating.
I had a clan mate have me try something, and I think it is helping. I haven't had issues, but I haven't been on a crowded server yet.
- Go to DOCUMENTS / BATTLEFIELD2042 / SETTINGS / and a file called PROFSAVE_profile
- right click on it and select OPEN.
- Use NOTEPAD to open it.
Change these settings:
GstRender.DLSSEnabled 1
GstRender.Dx12Enabled 1
GstRender.ShadowQuality 0
GstRender.WeaponDOF 0
-File and SAVE
I have been able to play the game for the first time in months. I don't think I've had an issue yet, but still haven't been on a crowded server.
- 4 years ago@heychadwick Well, I was able to play yesterday with no issues!!! It was great! First time playing in 2 months.
Today is patch day. I patched. The game won't play. It's worse than it was before. CPU 100% and GPU at 54%. I'm lagging so hard I'm sliding around the place and I'm not even near people. Forget trying to go up ladders or stairs. I can't even drop a beacon. Half my grenades don't actually throw because I'm lagging so hard. - 4 years ago
@EA_Leeuw Please help. I couldn't play for months. Tech Support said come here for a status update on my "bug" of using the i7-9700 processor.
I used the above config file changes and it worked! I was able to play for a whole day. Then, the patch came. Now I can't play again.

After the latest patch, I couldn't play again.
I went back and changed DX12 to 0 and it is playable. Not as good and still laggy, but playable.
