Last sunday I decided to check out all the hype for BF 2042 after not playing in forever.
I am getting a crash ranging from 20 minutes to 5 hours. Very inconsistant.
Sometimes the game will just "hiccup" and skip a few frame or it will just freeze then close to desktop.
I have tried pretty much every "solution" ive seen online.

At first check that u have latest build of Windows 11 OS (22621.1635 at 28.04.23) and latest AMD video driver (Adrenalin 23.4.3, Release Date 4/27/2023).
Then if u have some overclocked hardware CPU / RAM /MB / GPU (it can be overclocked from stock), try to turn off it all.
Already had my overclock turned off. Only thing that was somewhat a overclock is SAM memory.
I updated all my amd and windows and I was able to play for 3 hours til it crashed.
I see people talking about switching xmp speeds but I already had to do that because my ram was not able to reach the advertised speed.
turned Game Mode on in windows and knock on wood i didnt have a crash the rest of the night.
will test more later today.
Still happens this time the game will freeze and if I alt tab to the desktop it will not crash.
Same crap happens to me too since release. Never had similar problems in other games, except for NfS Unbound. Doesn't matter the game (GR Breakpoint, Cyberpunk, AC Valhalla, new Jedi Survivor, WoW, Dead Island2) and how high i put the video settings, none of these games crash. For me it seems to be a problem with the Frostbite Engine (BF and NfS use it booth, I think while all other games I mentioned don't).
Have tried so many different ways to avoid the crashes like BIOS flash, downclocking, undervolting, and pretty much any hint the i-net can offer. Nothing worked and it still sporadicly crashes ot the point, I have to switch off the PC to start all over again.
I even lowered the graphics down to nearly minimum, while I play all other games mentioned above (except Jedi Survivor which only runs smooth on high) on max. settings without ray tracing on a Radeon RX 6800 XT.
It just sucks... Hope you'll find a way to fix it, I gave up quite some time.

Well here is what has helped me.
I lowered my cpu clock down 100 mhz from 3.7 to 3.6
I also lowered my Ram from 3900 to 3600.
Turned Game mode on in windows(not sure if that did anything or not)
I also deleted the DX12 line from PROFSAVE_profile
So far no crashing.
BUT I do still get freezing usually when I am in a menu either changing operator or weapons.
If I alt tab out and in the game goes back to normal just slightly annoying.
Hope this can help others but seems like everyone has different ways of surpressing the issue not solving it.
